Job description

Destination Wedding Consultant

Destawed Inc. โ€” Luxury South Asian Destination Weddings Remote โ€” Canada, USA, or Mexico | Full-Time | Travel Required

About Destawed

Destawed is a premier luxury South Asian destination wedding company, producing multi-day celebrations across Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and Jamaica. For nearly a decade, we've partnered with the region's leading resorts โ€” including Hard Rock, Palace Resorts, Melia, Pueblo Bonito, Majestic Resorts, Hyatt, Fairmont & more - to deliver hundreds of weddings for discerning clients, including A-list clientele. Experience over everything โ€” meet us in paradise.

Why This Opportunity Is Different

Most sales roles promise high earnings but deliver burnout. At Destawed, our top consultants consistently earn $150K+ because our specialized focus on Mexico, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic creates the right environment for your success:

  • Lucrative Commission Structure โ€” Base salary plus uncapped commission; your earnings directly reflect your expertise in our specialized destinations
  • High-Demand Markets โ€” Mexico, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic are among the most popular and profitable destination wedding locations in the world
  • High-Value Contracts โ€” Our celebrations routinely exceed $400,000 and span four to six events over multiple days
  • Repeat Bookings & Referrals โ€” Your clients become your best advertisers after experiencing their dream wedding
  • High-quality leads - access to incoming leads, no cold-calling

The Role

The Destination Wedding Consultant is the first face of Destawed. You own the client journey from initial inquiry through signed agreement โ€” guiding couples and families through destination selection, package options, and contract terms. You are a trusted advisor to couples making one of the largest purchases of their lives, and the bridge that hands each booked client seamlessly to our planning team.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Consultation

  • Conduct discovery and consultation calls with couples and families, presenting Destawed's Destination Collections (Travel Management, Signature, and Premier tiers) and recommending the right fit based on guest count, event schedule, and budget
  • Deliver polished sales consultations using Destawed's presentation materials and budget planning tools; build accurate preliminary budgets across ceremony, reception, and pre-events
  • Advise clients on destination and resort selection across Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and Jamaica, leveraging our preferred resort partnerships
  • Structure and present proposals covering planning packages, add-ons (Lead Designer, bridal concierge, content creation, 3D event renderings, custom stationery, additional events), and travel/room-block services

Contracts & Pipeline Management

  • Prepare sales agreements accurately and completely, ensuring event counts, package tier, inclusions, exclusions, and payment schedules are correctly documented for signature by Destawed's authorized signatory
  • Maintain all client group records and sales agreements in Monday.com (Groups Overview), keeping pipeline data current and audit-ready
  • Coordinate room blocks and travel components with our travel team, ensuring clients understand what is sold separately from planning packages

Handoff & Collaboration

  • Execute the sales-to-planning handoff process, briefing the Planning Manager and Lead Planner on client expectations, agreement terms, and any commitments made during the sales cycle
  • Support onboarding by ensuring the planning team can review the signed sales agreement and group record without gaps
  • Represent client interests internally while protecting scope โ€” flag any requests that fall outside the signed agreement

Your Transferable Sales Experience

We value diverse sales backgrounds. Our top performers have come from a range of industries, bringing valuable skills:

  • B2C Sales โ€” Success in retail, hospitality, automotive, or luxury goods sales demonstrates your ability to understand client needs and close meaningful deals
  • Relationship-Based Sales โ€” Experience in wedding planning, financial services, consulting, or account management showcases your skill in building long-term client relationships
  • High-Ticket Sales โ€” A background selling premium products or services proves you can confidently work with substantial budgets. Transaction values range from $150-$500K
  • Consultative Selling โ€” Experience guiding clients through complex decisions shows you can handle the nuanced journey of wedding planning

Qualifications That Set You Apart

  • Proven Sales Track Record โ€” Consistently meeting or exceeding targets in previous roles
  • Cultural Fluency โ€” Deep appreciation for South Asian wedding traditions) and the multi-day, multi-event structure they require
  • Hospitality or Wedding Industry Experience โ€” Experienced wedding planners are ideal
  • CRM Proficiency โ€” Experience managing client relationships through digital tools (Monday.com or comparable)
  • Problem-Solving Skills โ€” Ability to overcome objections and find creative solutions
  • Strong Communication โ€” Excellence in both written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to families and negotiating with poise
  • Organization โ€” Capability to manage multiple clients at different planning stages with complete documentation and no dropped threads
  • Passion for Travel โ€” Enthusiasm for the destinations you'll be selling; valid passport and willingness to travel to Mexico and the Caribbean several times per year
  • Work Authorization โ€” Legally authorized to work in Canada, the United States, or Mexico; comfortable working remotely across time zones
  • Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu, or Gujarati language skills an asset

The Lifestyle Beyond the Paycheck

Beyond the impressive earnings, imagine:

  • Experiencing luxury resorts firsthand through DESTATOUR trips to Mexico, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic
  • Building relationships with top resort wedding coordinators across the Caribbean
  • Becoming the go-to expert for couples seeking Caribbean and Mexican wedding experiences
  • Access to hospitality networking events
  • Earn complimentary room nights to be used for leisure & research trips

Compensation Structure

  • Base salary plus uncapped commission on closed agreements โ€” top consultants earn $150K+
  • Performance targets tied to signed contract value and booking volume
  • Travel expenses covered for approved site visits and DESTATOUR familiarization trips
  • Health benefits and paid vacation per company policy
