What is remote residential drafting?

Remote residential drafting involves creating detailed architectural drawings and plans for homes and residential buildings from a remote location, typically using computer-aided design (CAD) software. Drafters work with architects, engineers, and clients to produce floor plans, elevations, and construction documents that meet local building codes and client requirements. This role can be performed from home or any remote office, allowing for flexibility and collaboration through digital communication tools.

What are some common challenges faced when working as a remote residential drafter, and how can they be overcome?

One common challenge in remote residential drafting is ensuring clear communication with architects, builders, and clients, as in-person meetings are rare. To overcome this, remote drafters often rely on detailed documentation, regular virtual meetings, and collaborative design software.
