Summary
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY OPERATIONS RESEARCH ANALYST in the OFFICE OF THE COMMANDANT of HQ US MARINE CORPS.

  • You will perform scientific work that involves designing, developing, and adapting mathematical, statistical, and other scientific methods and techniques to analyze enterprise-wide challenges.
  • You will review policies and procedures and makes comparisons to functional needs to identify problems and solutions, in order to enhance program operations
  • You will apply standard and customized computer techniques to data collection methods and serve as an expert in developing
    enterprise-wide metrics, surveys, audits, and special projects.
  • You will review, research, and benchmark emerging trends and analyze the functional impacts on systems.
  • You will develop methods and assessments by applying expert knowledge of particular classes of problems across the range of enterprise data, policies, and systems to develop problem-solving methods specific to challenges identified by senior leaders.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This position may require periods of walking, standing, and bending.

Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Leading data analysts and managing contracts while demonstrating expertise in advanced statistical modeling, mathematical optimization, and decision analysis, and ensuring the ability to conduct scientifically rigorous studies and communicate complex technical findings to senior leaders.

Applicants must possess:
A Bachelor's Degree in Operations Research
OR
At least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
