Job Description

The National Account Sales Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and growing strategic relationships with national insurance distribution partners, agencies, broker networks, affinity groups, financial institutions, and other key accounts that distribute Personal Lines insurance products. This role drives profitable premium growth, increases market penetration, and ensures strong partner engagement while serving as the primary liaison between the company and assigned national accounts.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Account Management

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans for assigned national accounts to achieve premium growth, profitability, and retention targets.
  • Identify and pursue new distribution opportunities with national agencies, affinity partners, and strategic organizations.
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
  • Negotiate partnership agreements, business plans, incentives, and growth initiatives.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with partners to evaluate performance and identify growth opportunities.

Sales Leadership & Growth

  • Drive sales of Personal Lines insurance products, including Auto, Homeowners, CV, Renters, Umbrella, and Specialty products.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive positioning, and account performance to develop targeted sales strategies.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, product management, marketing, and operations teams to maximize production and profitability.
  • Develop and implement account-specific growth plans and sales campaigns.
  • Monitor sales pipelines and forecast production results accurately.

Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned national accounts.
  • Strengthen relationships through regular meetings, training sessions, and strategic planning discussions.
  • Resolve escalated service, operational, or underwriting issues affecting partner satisfaction.
  • Promote a culture of partnership and mutual success.
  • Increase partner engagement through webinars, conferences, and industry events.

Performance Analysis & Reporting

  • Monitor key performance indicators including written premium, growth rate, loss ratio, retention, and market share.
  • Prepare and present business performance reports to senior leadership.
  • Identify trends and provide recommendations to improve account profitability and productivity.
