Location: Remote

Time Commitment: Flexible (~3 hours/week)

SafeHome

SafeHome is building an online resource that empowers San Francisco residents to assess earthquake risks by address. As we have just completed our Beta release, we're seeking an experienced Senior Marketing Manager to drive collaboration with government officials and neighborhood leaders and market SafeHome in a variety of distribution channels.

Role Summary

We're looking for a volunteer Marketing Manager who can initiate outreach to community organizations, meet regularly with city and neighborhood leaders, and translate insights into strategy with a cross-functional team. This role is essential for ensuring we build SafeHome in alignment with city government strategy and to solve real community needs. The North Star is to build one or multiple long-standing collaborations with recognized disaster preparedness organizations in San Francisco and eventually achieving an official endorsement.

Skills We're Looking For

  • Proactive communication
  • Ability to create agendas and facilitate meetings effectively
  • Passion for civic technology, open-source, and community impact
  • Ability to use Instagram, Reddit, NextDoor and LinkedIn

Key Responsibilities

  • Find or initiate opportunities for relationship-building, i.e. presenting at a tech-for-good public event, or group volunteering with the SFFD
  • Build and maintain a social media presence
  • Write and maintain a strategy for partnerships and outreach
  • Initiate and facilitate meetings with both public-sector and academic professionals, and neighborhood leadership
  • Maintain existing relationship with the Department of Emergency Management (DEM)
  • Collaborate with product, design and engineering on translating insights from outreach into a roadmap
