San Antonio Counseling Services is actively seeking a dedicated and licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a full-time remote capacity. In this pivotal role, you will deliver professional mental health care to a diverse population, performing evaluations, developing personalized treatment plans, and leading both individual and group therapy sessions.

• Conduct intake evaluations to assess the mental, behavioral, and emotional health of clients, ensuring accurate documentation from the beginning through the end of the treatment cycle.
• Develop and implement tailored intervention and recovery plans suitable for individuals, couples, families, and groups, taking into account unique client needs and goals.
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, incorporating a range of therapeutic techniques and modalities to resonate with varying client preferences.
• Monitor ongoing client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to enhance recovery outcomes.
• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and nursing staff, to devise comprehensive intervention strategies.
• Coordinate with medical professionals for clients requiring hospital admission, ensuring seamless communication and care continuity.
• Proactively identify and address potential barriers to recovery, providing strategies to overcome these challenges.
• Support families and caregivers in their efforts to manage clients’ mental health challenges, offering guidance and resources.

In this role, you will work with a broad spectrum of clients who present with a variety of mental health issues, ranging from anxiety and depression to more complex psychological conditions. You will be instrumental in fostering a safe, supportive environment where clients feel empowered to discuss their mental health concerns and pursue their healing journeys.

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in Virginia.
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Demonstrated previous experience as a mental health counselor, emphasizing direct client interaction and therapeutic engagement.

• Proficiency with electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR, to facilitate efficient documentation and management of client cases.
• Experience working with co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions and addiction disorders.
• Familiarity with the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
• In-depth knowledge of psychotropic medications and their impact on mental health treatment.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey therapeutic concepts and ensure clear understanding among clients and colleagues.
• Outstanding interpersonal abilities that demonstrate empathy and understanding, vital for establishing therapeutic relationships.

The salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
