Job description

We’re looking for Project Managers who are excited to drive complex electrical infrastructure projects across commercial, industrial, and power generation facilities in the U.S. This role involves managing concurrent projects ranging from $500K to $2.5M, often with overlapping schedules. You’ll oversee retrofits, relay replacements, protection and control upgrades, and more, working cross-functionally with field technicians, subcontractors, and engineers. You’ll be part of a mission-driven team that values safety, execution, and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do:
  • Lead all phases of assigned projects from kickoff to closeout, ensuring delivery on time and within budget
  • Define scope, deliverables, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Coordinate with engineering, field services, subcontractors, and clients to ensure project alignment
  • Manage contracts and ensure compliance from both a technical and commercial perspective
  • Interpret customer requirements and convert them into actionable project plans
  • Oversee technical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and quality of project execution
  • Track progress, identify risks, and implement contingency plans as needed
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and issue RFPs as applicable
  • Provide clear and consistent communication across internal and external teams
  • Drive process improvements and promote PMO best practices
  • Own project outcomes and ensure alignment with RMS Energy’s high standards
  • Perform engineering reviews, initiate corrective actions, and support technical troubleshooting
  • Assist with forecasting, reporting, and PMO documentation
  • Ensure field implementation meets all safety standards and regulatory requirements
The Experience We’re Looking For:
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in project management
  • Experience in commercial or industrial power systems is highly preferred
  • PMP certification or NETA 2/3/4 preferred
  • Familiarity with electrical systems, substations, switchgear, and control/protection upgrades
  • Skilled in Microsoft Project and the MS Office Suite
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Proven communication skills with internal teams, subcontractors, and external clients
  • Understanding of the power industry landscape, EPC relationships, and service execution
  • Experience managing projects with multiple stakeholders and technical disciplines
Additional Requirements:
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% across the continental U.S.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related technical field (or equivalent work experience)
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid and current driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Must successfully complete a background check and pre-employment/random drug tests
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Comfortable visiting field sites with varied temperatures (20–100°F), noise levels, and PPE requirements
  • Able to lift up to 20 lbs and sit or work at a computer for extended periods
  • Requires good vision, hearing, and English proficiency for safe, effective communication in noisy environments

  • Prior experience with relay upgrades, switchgear retrofits, commissioning, or protection/control projects
