This full-time position presents a unique opportunity to deliver impactful mental health care to patients in a community health clinic setting, with an annual salary range of $115,000 to $130,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

About the Organization

The Bright Duchess Behavioral and Psychological Center is a dynamic entity committed to enhancing the mental health and emotional well-being of our diverse patient community in Torrance, California. Our organization fosters an inclusive environment that values the unique backgrounds and experiences of each patient, thereby tailoring our mental health services to address the specific needs of the individuals we serve. Our team of licensed professionals works collaboratively to ensure holistic care that promotes recovery and personal growth.

Work Environment

This position is fully remote, providing flexibility and work-life balance, while still allowing for an engaging professional experience. As a member of our mental health counseling team, you will collaborate closely with colleagues, medical professionals, and community organizations through secure digital platforms and virtual meetings. The nature of remote work does not limit access to resources; counselors will have access to a variety of online tools and support networks designed to facilitate their work and enhance patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and screenings of patients utilizing virtual platforms to evaluate their mental health needs and develop tailored treatment plans.
  • Provide short-term individual counseling and crisis intervention services for patients experiencing various issues, utilizing evidence-based practices and digital therapeutic tools.
  • Facilitate engaging therapy groups and workshops through online platforms, covering relevant topics such as coping strategies, stress management, and personal development.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including medical staff and community service providers to ensure a continuum of care, sharing insights and strategies to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Participate in outreach initiatives by developing and leading virtual mental health awareness programs and community wellness events.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential electronic records in compliance with all legal and ethical standards to safeguard patient confidentiality.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our counseling services cater to a diverse range of clients, including individuals facing mental health challenges related to stress, anxiety, depression, and interpersonal issues. As an integral part of the care team, you will work primarily with patients from various backgrounds, offering support that is culturally sensitive and tailored to their unique circumstances.

Qualifications
  • Active state licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Psychologist.
  • Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field; a master's or doctoral degree is preferred.
  • Proven understanding of mental health challenges prevalent among diverse populations, particularly within a community health context.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients in a virtual environment, fostering trust and rapport.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic practices and brief intervention models, equipped to adapt to remote counseling.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced remote work setting, effectively managing a varied caseload.
Preferred Experience

While a bachelor's degree is the minimum requirement, candidates with a master's or doctoral degree and those with prior experience in a community health clinic or hospital environment are highly valued. Experience in teletherapy and familiarity with digital counseling platforms will give candidates an edge in this role.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Annual salary between USD 115,000 and 130,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement options, and generous paid time off for improved work-life balance.
  • Access to ongoing professional development opportunities, including training programs, workshops, and resources for continuing education to further advance your skills.
  • A supportive and collaborative work environment where teamwork among mental health professionals is highly encouraged.
  • Opportunities for involvement in research and potential publication collaborations within the mental health field.
  • Access to a wealth of resources, including virtual libraries, support networks, and professional associations.
Career Growth Opportunities

As a member of Bright Duchess Behavioral and Psychological Center, you will have the opportunity to advance your career through various pathways tailored to your professional interests. This includes potential leadership roles within our counseling teams or specialized positions focused on community outreach and mental health advocacy.
