Job description

Are you looking for a Challenge? Looking for an innovative organization and the opportunity to learn and grow professionally? We can help! We are seeking a Junior Network Administrator for the IT Technology Services contract. This project will provide IT service desk, systems, network, and security operations support for Federal Prison Industries (UNICOR), supporting end users, Microsoft infrastructure, and mission-critical business systems in hybrid work environments. This position is remote/hybrid; candidates must be willing to work on-site at the Central UNICOR office in Washington, DC when required; work hours are from Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day. Travel to remote locations is required. This position is contingent upon contract award.

So, what will the Junior Network Administrator at Terrestris do?

As the Junior Network Administrator you will support the IT Technology Services contract. The Junior Network Administrator is a member of the team responsible for keeping the network running efficiently. The Junior Network Administrator ensures that all computers and other devices connected to networks, including routers, hubs and switches, are operating correctly.

What does a typical day look like for a Junior Network Administrator?

You will:

  • Monitor network devices and connected systems to ensure computers, routers, hubs, and switches are operating efficiently and reliably.
  • Troubleshoot network anomalies and connectivity issues under the direction of the lead Network Administrator to restore service and minimize disruptions.
  • Support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware and software to meet operational requirements.
  • Assist with network administration activities, user support, and system performance monitoring to help maintain a secure and stable network environment.

What qualifications do you look for?

You might be the professional we're looking for if you have:

  • Authorization to work in the United States permanently without sponsorship.
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance.
  • A minimum of (4) years of Networking experience.
  • Certifications: CompTIA Security + certification can be used to substitute for 1 year of experience.
