Job Title: Senior Accountant (Direct Hire)

Location (City, State): Charlotte, NC

Pay: $85,000–$95,000 annually

Job Description:

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting the month-end close process, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and operational analysis. This position will partner closely with leadership to provide insight into financial performance while helping improve accounting processes and controls as the company continues to scale.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong accounting foundation, advanced Excel skills, and experience working in a fast-paced environment. Candidates coming from public accounting or large multi-entity organizations are highly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
  • Analyze financial results and provide leadership with explanations for fluctuations and performance trends
  • Reconcile complex balance sheet accounts such as accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and payroll-related accounts
  • Maintain schedules related to fixed assets, amortization, leases, debt, and other key accounting areas
  • Assist with audit preparation and respond to requests from external auditors
  • Ensure accounting practices remain compliant with GAAP standards and internal policies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve accounting workflows and reporting accuracy
  • Assist with ad hoc reporting, financial analysis, and special projects as needed
  • Support junior team members and contribute to a collaborative accounting environment

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 2–4+ years of accounting experience required
  • Public accounting experience strongly preferred
  • CPA or CPA-track preferred
  • Experience working in healthcare, retail, or multi-location environments is a plus
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required, including pivot tables, lookups, and complex formulas
  • Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite preferred
  • Familiarity with Power BI or financial reporting tools is a plus
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
