Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough crisis assessments and develop immediate intervention plans for clients experiencing urgent mental health emergencies.
• Provide high-quality counseling services through telehealth technologies, ensuring clients receive prompt and ongoing support tailored to their unique situations.
• Foster cooperative relationships with law enforcement and emergency response teams to ensure client safety and appropriate care during crises.
• Apply advanced crisis intervention strategies and de-escalation techniques to maintain a calm and supportive environment for clients in distress.
• Utilize evidence-based practices to create individualized treatment plans and recommend follow-up support, ensuring continuity of care.
• Engage in regular professional development and training opportunities to enhance your counseling competencies and stay updated on best practices in mental health treatment.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on clients grappling with addiction and other severe mental health challenges. We serve a diverse population, including individuals coping with trauma, emotional crises, and suicidal inclinations. A culturally sensitive approach is paramount as you will work with people from varied backgrounds, each with their own unique stories, needs, and recovery journeys.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification.
• A minimum of three years of recent experience providing crisis intervention and mental health counseling.
• Additional training or specialization in crisis counseling and trauma-informed care is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated experience successfully counseling individuals in immediate mental health crises using evidence-based interventions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and build therapeutic relationships.
• Proficient understanding of the ethical and legal standards pertaining to mental health care.
• Capacity for quick decision-making and conducting rapid assessments under pressure.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in addiction therapy or working with populations facing substance misuse challenges.
• Training in specific methodologies for crisis intervention and de-escalation, such as Motivational Interviewing or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
• Experience utilizing teletherapy platforms to deliver remote counseling services.
