You'll develop proprietary services supporting sophisticated advisory products, including portfolio management, block trading, and retirement accounts.
The role offers the opportunity to shape architecture and engineering practices at an early stage, with substantial ownership and autonomy.
You'll work across frontend and backend systems, databases, distributed architectures, concurrency, and performance optimization.
Your work will directly influence the reliability, scalability, and quality of products used by financial institutions and millions of brokerage accounts.

  • Work across different levels of the technology stack, from low-level performance optimization to high-level distributed system architecture.
  • Contribute extensively to the codebase while taking ownership of engineering quality, reliability, and performance.
  • Collaborate within a small, highly technical team where engineers are expected to take on broad responsibilities and wear multiple hats.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve system performance through benchmarking, profiling, observability, and technical optimization.

  • Strong senior-level software engineering experience, with the ability to independently own complex technical problems.
  • Solid system design expertise, including object-oriented data modeling, service-oriented architecture, system abstraction, and distributed system design.
  • Strong programming skills across low- and high-level languages such as C/C++, Go, Zig, Rust, Java, Scala, or Python.
  • Demonstrated experience optimizing systems for low latency and high throughput.
  • Strong knowledge of algorithms, distributed systems, scalability, high availability, databases, concurrency control, and performance-oriented architecture.
  • Experience designing or implementing Order Management Systems (OMS) and/or highly loaded financial transactional systems.
  • Experience working with messaging queues and message brokers.
  • Analytical and data-oriented approach to problem-solving, with strong attention to system behavior and performance.
  • Ability to work effectively in an early-stage, fast-moving environment with significant autonomy and technical ownership.
  • Knowledge of the FIX protocol is a plus.
  • Experience with observability, distributed tracing, continuous profiling, and benchmarking is a plus.
Benefits

  • Stock options.
  • Health benefits.
  • One-time USD $500 home-office setup allowance for new hires.
