Familiarity with digital inspection tools, quality management systems (QMS), and video conferencing platforms is typically required. Job description

Structural Steel Senior Project Manager - Remote

A structural steel fabrication company has an opening for a Project Manager to support structural steel projects in the Mid-Atlantic and/or Southeast regions. Remote work may be considered for the right candidate, preferably within the Mid-Atlantic region.

Most structural steel projects are located between New York and Virginia, so candidates within reasonable driving distance to project sites are strongly preferred. If a Project Manager needs to be onsite the next day, it is often more efficient and cost-effective for them to drive, with travel expenses and mileage reimbursed. While occasional flights or train travel may still be required, the preference is for travel by vehicle whenever practical. The company also continues to grow its presence in Tennessee and throughout the Southeast region.

Preferred location guidelines:
Ideal: Based out of one of the company offices in Delaware, Maryland, or Tennessee.
Preferred: Remote candidates within easy driving distance to the DC/Mid-Atlantic region (between NY, VA, NC, or WV).
Acceptable: Candidates located east of the Mississippi River.

Responsibilities of this position include:
• Coordinating with detailers to monitor progress of drawings.
• Identifying, requesting, and following up on required information from architects and engineers.
• Performing field measurements.
• Coordinating with other trades, suppliers, and sub-contractors.
• Scheduling production and delivery of materials.
• Scheduling and overseeing erection.
• Resolving job site problems.
• Pricing and issuing change order requests and negotiating change orders with General Contractors, Construction Managers, or Owners.
• Working with accounting on job cost estimates and other financial matters.
• Issuing close out documents.
• Developing and maintaining client relationships.
• Developing and maintaining erector relationships and capabilities.
• Traveling to job sites.
• Other work as assigned by company executives.

The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in project management for a structural steel fabricator/erector, or at least 3 years of experience with a college degree in architecture, construction management, or civil/structural engineering. Must be able to read architectural and structural drawings.
