About the Position

The Team Lead- Datacentersrole is a leadership position within MCI for experienced engineers who want to remain technically engaged while taking responsibility for people, delivery, and outcomes. In this role, you will lead a multidisciplinary team supporting industrial and mission-critical clients, apply sound engineering judgment to complex challenges, andmaintainregular interaction with clients as a trusted technical partner. The role balances hands-on technical execution with mentorship, coaching, and ownership of delivery.TheTeamLead shapestechnical direction,reinforcesquality and accountability standards, andbuildslasting professional relationshipswith clients and internal teams. Salary Range:$110,000 - $165,000 / year

The salary range above is based upon the Denver, Colorado labor market.

KeyResponsibilities

Client Partnerships & Delivery

  • Serve as the primary operational point of contact for clients, building trusted, long-term relationships through clear communication and reliable delivery.

  • Coordinate closely with internal stakeholders to align teams,facilitateeffective communication, and drive strong project outcomes.

  • Identifyopportunities for value engineering, design efficiencies, and expanded client support while providing field support, troubleshooting, and engineering observation during construction and commissioning as needed.

  • Partner with project managers to define scope, manage budgets, support change management, and proactivelyidentifyand mitigate project risks.

People Leadership &Quality Delivery

  • Lead, mentor, and develop engineers, designers, drafters, and technicians while fostering a collaborative, high-performance team environment.

  • Assign, coordinate, and reviewteam deliverablesto ensure quality, consistency, and alignment with project schedules and delivery expectations.

  • Assess individual and team development needs and support continuous growth through coaching,mentorship,training, andindividualdevelopment plans.

  • Reinforce and continuously improveNEI'sengineering standards, best practices, and QA/QC processes while ensuring adherence to organizational policies and expectations.

Growth & Business Development

  • Act as a Seller-Doer by partnering directly with clients, contributing technical insight to proposals, and supporting long-term account growth.

  • Leverage technical and business acumen toidentifyand pursue new opportunities in collaboration with sales and leadership.

  • Support business development and marketing efforts, including proposal development, client-facing materials, and strategies that improve operational efficiency, client satisfaction, and repeat business.

  • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and training sessions while upholding the highest ethical and professional standards in all client interactions.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technologyfrom an accredited institution

  • 8+ years of relevant engineering experience in industrial,oil & gasor power systemsrelatedenvironments

  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical work and mentor engineers

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to deliver high-quality work in technically complex environments

  • Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting industrial, oil and gas, data centers, or large-scale infrastructure projects

  • Professional Engineer (PE)/FE

  • PMP

  • Proficiencywith AutoCAD,Bluebeam

  • Experiencein Power Delivery, Substations and Power Engineering

WorkEnvironment :

  • Hybrid or fully remote work model depending on location and project needs

  • Travel typically ranges from 15-25% and varies by project
