Job description

*Telecommuting permitted: work may be performed within normal commuting distance from the Red Hat, LLC office in Durham, NC.

Design and develop server-side logic and modular software components for enterprise IT automation using the Python programming language and Django web framework. Implement core backend functionality, including data models, views, and middleware.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using the Django REST Framework (DRF) to facilitate seamless communication between automation tools and enterprise IT systems.
  • Create and optimize scripts and workflows to automate routine IT tasks, such as server provisioning, configuration management, and system monitoring, to improve operational efficiency.
  • Write and execute unit tests and integration tests using Python testing frameworks (e.g., PyTest or Unit test) to ensure code reliability and adherence to functional specifications.
  • Participate in Agile development cycles and code reviews.
  • Maintain technical documentation for API endpoints, system architecture, and automation workflows for internal engineering use.

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
