About the Job:

The Senior Software Engineer acts as a high-leverage technical leader, protecting Zone against long-term technical and business costs. This role handles high-stakes ambiguity and complexity, ensuring that as Zone scales its AI-native platform, the underlying architecture remains scalable, testable, and aligned with global financial standards.

This role owns the technical delivery of complex product modules and reports to an Engineering Manager. As a force multiplier for the team, the Senior Software Engineer collaborates with Product, Architecture, and FinOps leads to turn vague business requirements into high-integrity technical plans. The scope includes defining patterns for multi-entity consolidation and global tax compliance across NOAM, EMEA, and APAC.

This is a distinctive opportunity to lead the evolution of "Agentic Finance." This role is not just about writing code; it is about engineering the systems that allow autonomous AI agents to perform high-consequence financial tasks with 100% reliability.

What You'll Do:
  • Architects and delivers complex, high-value features across the Zone platform, ensuring all solutions are scalable, observable, and aligned with NetSuite SuiteCloud constraints.
  • Leads the integration of AI as a force multiplier, choosing the right AI workflows for implementation and debugging to improve team throughput without compromising quality.
  • Protects system integrity by identifying technical tradeoffs early and choosing designs that reduce long-term complexity and maintenance overhead.
  • Decomposes vague requirements into staged execution plans that reduce risk and improve team-wide delivery predictability.
  • Drives the engineering of automated validation frameworks that verify AI-generated and human-written code against US GAAP and IFRS logic.
  • Owns outcomes beyond implementation, translating technical debt and architectural choices into clear business consequences for stakeholders.
  • Improves surrounding code quality by proactively refactoring fragile paths and establishing higher standards for review and documentation.
  • Anticipates architectural pressure points, resolving bottlenecks before they impact the delivery of the product roadmap.
  • Mentors mid-level and junior engineers through rigorous code reviews, design guidance, and the promotion of AI-native best practices.
  • Owns and delivers against OKRs and KPIs with accountability for outcomes, quality, and timelines while proactively identifying and resolving blockers.
What You'll Need:
  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a significant focus on Fintech, Payments, or ERP-integrated SaaS.
  • Expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and deep experience with the NetSuite SuiteCloud platform (SuiteScript 2.x).
  • Proven ability to lead complex projects from ambiguity to successful production delivery in a globally distributed environment.
  • Strong judgment in verification discipline, with experience designing testable solutions for high-consequence business logic.
  • Proven effectiveness in fully remote, asynchronous, globally distributed environments with high autonomy and disciplined self-direction.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders across time zones.
