The startup's core products or services are typically built using the Python programming language, which is known for its versatility and ease of use in web development, data science, automation, and more. Working at a remote Python startup often requires strong collaboration skills, self-motivation, and proficiency in Python and related technologies. Team members typically communicate through online tools and platforms to manage projects, build products, and solve problems together.

Job description

Octagon Talent Solutions is a full-service technology recruitment and staffing company based in South Florida. We humanize technical recruitment by identifying candidates' long-term career goals and assessing cultural fit when presenting opportunities. Our focus on long-term relationships helps ensure placements that last.

Job Overview:

Octagon Talent Solutions is in search of a Solutions Architect to join a small, senior, high-ownership team and help drive customer-facing technical work end-to-end, from discovery to solution design, API integration, and implementation. This is a hands-on individual contributor role focused on technical depth, clear communication, and ownership in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead customer discovery calls, understand requirements, and translate them into clear technical solutions
  • Deliver product/technical demos and guide prospects through implementation approach and integration details
  • Design solutions across API-heavy workflows (including proof-of-concept work) and support customer onboarding
  • Partner cross-functionally with product and engineering to shape solutions and communicate constraints/tradeoffs
  • Take full ownership of customer-facing technical workstreams — from inception through deployment
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical and technical stakeholders

Requirements

  • Strong experience in customer-facing technical roles (solutions architecture, technical pre-sales, implementation engineering, or similar)
  • Experience with API integration, solution design, and end-to-end technical ownership
  • Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript (no single required language)
  • Ability to operate in a startup / resource-constrained, high-ownership environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • US citizenship required (no visa sponsorship)

Nice to have

  • Background in B2B SaaS companies with API-heavy products (strongly preferred)
  • Experience with data analytics/intelligence platforms or integration-heavy work
  • Familiarity working with regulated/public sector environments
  • AI fluency / comfort using AI tools to accelerate workflows

Not a fit for this role

  • Support-only or customer success profiles without technical implementation experience
  • Primarily post-sales backgrounds (pre-sales is higher priority)
  • Pure enterprise architects without hands-on customer-facing ownership
  • Internal IT/infrastructure-only ownership

Additional details

  • Remote: US only
  • Citizenship requirement: US citizen (required due to government client requirements; no visa sponsorship)
