What remote jobs can you get with Python?

Remote Python jobs include roles such as software developer, data analyst, machine learning engineer, and automation engineer. These positions often require proficiency in Python programming, familiarity with frameworks like Django or Flask, and experience with cloud platforms or version control tools. Many of these jobs offer flexible schedules and can be performed from any location with internet access.

Will AI replace Python devs?

Remote Python developers are unlikely to be fully replaced by AI, as their role involves complex problem-solving, coding, and adapting to new requirements that AI tools currently cannot fully replicate. AI can assist by automating repetitive tasks and improving productivity, but human oversight and expertise remain essential for software development. Staying updated with new tools and skills can help Python developers remain valuable in an evolving tech environment.

What is a Remote Python LLM job?

A Remote Python LLM job typically involves working with large language models (LLMs) like GPT or similar AI technologies using the Python programming language, while operating remotely. Professionals in this role develop, fine-tune, and deploy machine learning models, especially those focused on natural language processing (NLP) tasks. Responsibilities may include building Python applications that integrate with LLMs, data preprocessing, and collaborating with teams across different locations. The remote aspect allows for flexible work arrangements and access to global opportunities.

What are some common collaboration methods used by Remote Python LLM engineers when working with cross-functional teams?

Remote Python LLM engineers frequently collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and other developers through virtual meetings, code reviews, and shared documentation platforms. Tools like Slack, GitHub, and Jira are often used to ensure smooth communication and project tracking, despite working across different time zones. Regular stand-ups and sprint planning sessions help align objectives and keep everyone updated on progress. Proactive communication and clear documentation are key to overcoming the challenges of remote, distributed teamwork in this role.

Is Python used in LLM?

Yes, Python is widely used in developing large language models (LLMs) and is a key skill for remote Python LLM roles. It provides extensive libraries and frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch that facilitate model training, fine-tuning, and deployment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Python LLM Engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Python LLM Engineer, you need strong proficiency in Python programming, experience with large language models (LLMs), and a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (such as TensorFlow or PyTorch), cloud platforms, and version control systems like Git is typically required. Excellent problem-solving abilities, self-motivation, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for remote collaboration and troubleshooting. These skills ensure you can develop, deploy, and maintain advanced language models efficiently while working independently in distributed teams.

Which LLM is good for Python coding?

For a Remote Python Llm role, models like OpenAI's GPT-4 and GPT-3.4 are widely used for Python coding due to their strong language understanding and code generation capabilities. Additionally, open-source models such as Meta's Llama 2 and EleutherAI's GPT-NeoX can be fine-tuned for specific coding tasks, making them suitable options for development environments requiring customization. Proficiency in integrating these models with APIs and understanding their limitations is essential for effective Python coding assistance.

Job description

Lavendo partners with startups and high‑growth companies to help them hire top‑tier sales, GTM, and technical talent. This role is with one of our clients; we’ll share full details about the company and interview process as we get to know you and confirm mutual fit.

About the Company

Our client builds the infrastructure powering how the world's best engineering teams use AI. Their open-source AI Gateway is already trusted by Adobe, Netflix, Nvidia, and NASA — letting developers route 100+ LLM APIs through a single interface with cost tracking, guardrails, load balancing, and logging built in.

They're YC-backed, $10M+ ARR, ~10 people, and just getting started.

The Mission

Make LLM infrastructure simple and scalable for every engineering team on the planet — from scrappy startups to the world's largest enterprises.

The Opportunity

You'll be the first dedicated Solutions Architect/Sales Engineer on a rocket ship — owning the full technical sales motion alongside AEs, with direct access to founders and product. The companies you'll be selling to already know the product. Your job is to show them exactly how to make it work for them — and close.

If you've spent years learning how to sell developer tools to engineers — and you're ready to do it somewhere the stakes actually matter — this is that role.

What You'll Do
  • Own technical demos for enterprise prospects alongside AEs — running them daily at high volume

  • Be the go-to technical expert on every customer call: architecture questions, integration scoping, platform positioning

  • Manage ~50 active opportunities at once across a fast, no-nonsense sales cycle

  • Help customers get live — supporting post-sales onboarding on AI Gateway architecture for production (primarily pre-sales focused)

  • Feed customer insights directly back to the product and engineering teams — your voice shapes the roadmap

What You Bring

Must-Haves:

  • 3+ years in a technical, customer-facing sales role — Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, or Technical Consultant

  • You've demoed developer tools (think: Datadog, Twilio, Snowflake) to enterprise engineering teams and closed deals

  • You sell to engineers — not just around them

  • Python-proficient enough to run live demos and field architecture questions solo, no engineering support needed

  • BS in a technical field from a US university

  • You don't need structure to perform — you create it

Bonus Points:

  • Rust experience

  • CS degree

  • Hands-on familiarity with AI/ML infra, LLM APIs, or cloud platforms

Key Success Drivers
  • You move fast — 50 open opps doesn't intimidate you, it energizes you

  • Engineers trust you — you earn credibility in the first 5 minutes of a call

  • You figure things out — no playbook? No problem. You write it

  • You care about the customer — not just the close

  • You're built for early-stage — ambiguity is your advantage, not your obstacle

Why Join?
  • 💰 Base $150K–$220K | OTE $200K–$275K, uncapped commission + competitive equity

  • 🏥 Top-tier medical, dental, and vision coverage, including FSA

  • 🚀 First SE/SA hire at a $10M+ ARR, YC-backed company — with a product engineers already love

  • 🔥 Sell to the most exciting engineering teams in the world (Adobe, Netflix, Nvidia, NASA — and many more)

  • 🛠 Your feedback directly shapes the product roadmap

  • 📈 Join early. Grow fast. Build something that matters

  • 📍 Remote in the US or on-site in San Francisco, CA | Visa transfers accepted — no new sponsorships

Interviewing Process
  1. Intro Call — Brief culture and background screen

  2. Sales Screen — Deeper dive into your sales experience, demo skills, and enterprise customer engagement

  3. Technical Screen — Assessment of your Python proficiency, architecture knowledge, and ability to handle technical customer questions

  4. On-Site — Full Day in San Francisco — Meet the team, experience the environment firsthand, and demonstrate how you'd operate day-to-day. This is where culture fit, hustle, and autonomy are evaluated directly.

  5. Offer

We are proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, marital status, ancestry, disability, genetic information, veteran or military status, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by law.

Compensation Range: $200K - $275K
