This is a fully remote position reporting to the Mapping Director / GIS Manager, with no in-office or on-site work required at any point.
Growth & Advancement
Growth matters at Mavrx. As our team continues to expand, we build clear advancement paths and promote from within wherever possible. A GIS Analyst can grow into a Senior GIS Analyst and, with experience and demonstrated leadership, into a GIS Manager role. We invest in our people and want everyone who joins to have a path forward.
Responsibilities
  • Build, maintain, and QC geodatabases, feature classes, and spatial datasets for pipeline corridor mapping
  • Integrate survey, KML/KMZ, right-of-way, and alignment data into GIS environments while maintaining spatial data integrity
  • Produce maps, exhibits, and mapping deliverables in support of pipeline survey, permitting, and engineering products
  • Develop and enforce GIS data standards, schemas, and metadata across projects
  • Perform spatial analysis, data conversion, and coordinate-system transformations for pipeline projects
  • Automate and streamline recurring GIS workflows to improve accuracy and turnaround
  • Coordinate with survey crews, drafters, designers, project managers, and operator clients
  • Support the growth of Mavrx's GIS capabilities, with the opportunity to take on team leadership over time
  • Follow company standards and quality-control procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of hands-on GIS experience, preferably in pipeline, energy, or infrastructure
  • Proficiency with Esri ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online, and geodatabase management
  • Strong understanding of coordinate systems, datums, projections, and spatial data QA/QC
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment and own deliverables end to end

  • Reliable remote office setup, including a stable high-speed internet connection
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience mapping oil & gas transmission or gathering pipeline corridors
  • Familiarity with pipeline alignment sheets, plats, right-of-way, and permit workflows
  • Experience integrating field survey data (GNSS/GPS) into GIS
  • Proficiency with Python/ArcPy or model automation, and with AutoCAD Civil 3D or Skyline
  • Interest in and readiness for a future GIS management / team-lead role
  • Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered

  • Paid sick leave and other leave benefits provided in accordance with applicable law
Work Environment
  • Fully remote, home-office-based position; no in-office or on-site work required
  • Extended computer use and sedentary work
  • Occasional coordination with field personnel and project teams via remote collaboration tools
