Job description

Sr. HPC Solutions Architect
IT / High-Performance Computing | Remote (US PST Hours) | Contract - 3+ Months (Strong Potential for Extension)
About Our Client
Our client is a globally recognized technology solutions provider and systems integrator, working with some of the world's largest enterprises and government organizations. They operate at the forefront of infrastructure, security, and emerging technology - helping clients design, build, and manage complex IT environments at scale. With a deep bench of technology partnerships and a strong culture of innovation, they move fast and expect their people to do the same. This is a contractor role placed through Catapult Solutions Group and assigned to a third-party customer of World Wide Technology (WWT).
Job Description
The Sr. HPC Solutions Architect will serve as a senior technical resource responsible for designing and delivering GPU-accelerated, high-performance computing environments focused on large-scale log analytics, observability, and security operations. This is a specialized, high-impact role for someone who lives at the intersection of HPC infrastructure and enterprise data platforms - the kind of work that requires both deep technical depth and the ability to communicate clearly across teams.
Day-to-day, you'll design GPU-accelerated architectures for log ingestion, parsing, and analytics - optimizing Splunk environments, integrating modern observability tooling, and applying AI/ML frameworks to security use cases like anomaly detection, threat hunting, and automated incident response. You'll benchmark workloads, eliminate bottlenecks across compute, storage, and network layers, and build solutions that perform at scale across on-prem and cloud environments.
The right candidate brings 7-10+ years of HPC or large-scale data platform experience, deep hands-on expertise with CUDA and Splunk, and the technical leadership skills to drive architecture reviews, POCs, and production rollouts from start to finish.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Design and implement GPU-accelerated architectures for log ingestion, parsing, indexing, and analytics • Optimize workloads using GPU technologies including CUDA, RAPIDS, and TensorRT for high-throughput data processing • Architect distributed HPC environments for large-scale log analytics across on-prem and cloud platforms • Evaluate and integrate high-performance storage solutions (NVMe, parallel file systems) for log-heavy workloads • Lead architecture and optimization of Splunk environments including indexing, search heads, clustering, and data pipelines • Integrate Splunk with GPU-accelerated data processing frameworks to improve performance and reduce latency • Design solutions across modern observability tools including Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), Fluentd, and OpenTelemetry • Build advanced dashboards, alerting systems, and real-time analytics pipelines • Apply GPU acceleration to security analytics use cases including SIEM, anomaly detection, and threat hunting • Design pipelines for analyzing logs using machine learning and AI frameworks • Enable use cases such as behavioral analytics, predictive alerting, and automated incident response • Tune Splunk and related platforms for high-ingest, low-latency search performance • Benchmark GPU vs. CPU workloads and drive architectural decisions based on performance data • Identify and eliminate bottlenecks across compute, storage, and network layers • Partner with SecOps, DevOps, SRE, and platform engineering teams to define logging and analytics strategies • Translate business and operational requirements into scalable HPC-based solutions • Provide technical leadership in architecture reviews, POCs, and production rollouts
Required Experience & Skills
• 7-10+ years of experience in HPC, Solutions Architecture, or large-scale data platforms • Deep expertise in GPU computing including CUDA, GPU performance tuning, and RAPIDS or similar GPU data processing frameworks • Strong hands-on experience with Splunk Enterprise and/or Splunk Cloud - indexing, search optimization, clustering, forwarders, and data pipelines • Experience with log analytics and observability platforms such as Elastic Stack, Fluentd, or similar • Strong understanding of distributed systems and parallel computing architectures • Experience with Linux systems, scripting (Python, Bash), and automation • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across technical and operational audiences
Nice-to-Haves
• Experience with AI/ML frameworks applied to log analytics including PyTorch, TensorFlow, or RAPIDS cuML • Familiarity with streaming technologies such as Kafka, Spark Streaming, or Flink • Experience with Kubernetes and containerized HPC workloads • Knowledge of security analytics and SIEM use cases • Splunk Architect, NVIDIA, or cloud architect certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field preferred. Equivalent professional experience will be considered.
Pay & Details
Contract duration: 3+ months with strong likelihood of extension based on performance • Location: Fully remote - must be available to work US Pacific Standard Time (PST) hours • Work authorization accepted: US Citizen, Green Card, TN, H-1B, E-3, H4-EAD, L2-EAD, OPT-EAD, CPT-EAD, TPS-EAD, STEM-EAD
