About the Role
As a Facets Data Analytics & Automation Consultant, you will make an impact by delivering data-driven insights and automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, data quality, and decision-making across healthcare payer operations. You will be a valued member of the Healthcare Technology team and collaborate with business leaders, operations teams, data analysts, architects, and technology stakeholders to build scalable analytics and automation capabilities.
In this role, you will:
  • Analyze Facets data across membership, provider, claims, product, benefits, billing, and financial domains to identify trends, risks, and business opportunities.
  • Develop complex SQL queries, reconciliations, operational reports, dashboards, and analytical solutions that support business and operational decision-making.
  • Design and implement automation solutions using SQL, Python, APIs, scripting, and workflow tools to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
  • Create automated monitoring, exception handling, data validation, and reporting processes that support healthcare payer operations.
  • Perform data profiling, root-cause analysis, testing, and validation activities to improve data quality and operational controls.
  • Build and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, audit controls, and support procedures for analytics and automation solutions.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including operations, reporting, ETL, architecture, configuration, and production support to deliver business-focused solutions.

What You Need to Have to Be Considered
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7+ years of healthcare payer technology, data analytics, or reporting experience.
  • 4+ years of experience working with Facets data structures, processes, and healthcare payer operations.
  • Advanced SQL expertise, including query optimization, data extraction, reconciliation, and large-scale relational database analysis.
  • Experience designing, developing, and supporting analytics, reporting, or automation solutions from requirements through production deployment.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare payer data domains, including claims, membership, provider, benefits, billing, and financial data.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate technical findings into business recommendations.

These Will Help You Stand Out
  • Experience across Facets Claims, Membership, Provider, Product & Benefits, Billing, Pricing, or Financial management domains.
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI, Tableau, Python, ETL tools, RPA platforms, Autosys, Control-M, or similar automation technologies.
  • Knowledge of healthcare EDI transactions including 834, 837, and 835 processing and integrations.
  • Experience supporting cloud modernization, data conversion, platform migration, or enterprise analytics initiatives.
  • Understanding of HIPAA, data governance, privacy, security, and audit compliance requirements.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments and cross-functional healthcare technology teams.

The annual salary for this position will be in the range of $113,000 - $130,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
