Job description

Documents, communicates and suggests remedies for disputed issues/defects using defined standards. Works with cross functional teams in highly collaborative manner. Utilizes test tools, test methodology, best practices and standard quality assurance processes to deliver functional, deployable, supportable and maintainable products and services.

JOB ROLE SUMMARY

  • Documents, communicates and suggests remedies for disputed issues/defects using defined standards.
  • Works with cross functional teams in highly collaborative manner.
  • Utilizes test tools, test methodology, best practices and standard quality assurance processes to deliver functional, deployable, supportable and maintainable products and services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Tester is expected to be fully functional and self-directed.
  • Involved in technical, development, or account related projects or processes that may be complex and/or critical to the company, organization, or unit.
  • Utilize his/her technical (area of) expertise on fairly complex, high-priority projects and/or processes; OR
  • Take the lead on a fairly complex piece of the project
  • Execute test cases/scripts and analyze outcomes
  • Perform testing and document the actual results and metrics
  • Perform all aspects of defect tracking
  • Create test data, if required
  • Develop test scripts, test conditions, test procedures and expected results for one or more test plans, including product, component, assembly, or performance tests.
  • Apply the Q&A process that validates fixes and ensures follow through to all test cycles
  • Inform Senior and/or Expert of any issues that may affect the schedule, budget, or quality of the product or the testing process
  • Work with the developers on where a defect was found and complete retesting of these defects
  • Communicates execution status to the Expert
  • Organize testing execution and results
  • Maintain information in appropriate testing tools
  • Develop technical skills further in order to accomplish scripting and automation to enable efficiencies
  • Develop leadership skills

INDEPENDENT CONTRIBUTOR:

  • Fully functional and self-directed.
  • Provides formal mentorship.
  • High complexity assignments- owner. Moderate complexity assignments - owner (1 or >). Low complexity assignments - provide oversight/review.
  • Regularly leads self and established as specialist
  • Sees the whole picture and adjusts work accordingly.

Product Knowledge and Understanding: Advanced, proven knowledge of testing

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have direct reports but may mentor less experienced associates in the role.
