Job description

VetsEZ is seeking a Healthcare Data Analyst to support a large federal healthcare interoperability program. In this role, you will analyze healthcare data, support data mapping and validation, and help translate operational and reporting needs into actionable insights for delivery teams and stakeholders. You will work across structured data, interoperability workflows, and reporting requirements in support of mission outcomes.

The candidate must reside within the continental US.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze healthcare and operational data to support reporting, validation, troubleshooting, and decision-making.
  • Support data mapping, data quality review, and reconciliation across internal and external systems.
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to define data requirements, reporting needs, and analytical outputs.
  • Create queries, reports, dashboards, and data summaries to support program visibility and operational insights.
  • Assist with validating data transformations, interface outputs, and data exchange results.
  • Document data definitions, rules, assumptions, and quality considerations.
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and issues in data sets and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders.
  • Support user acceptance, defect triage, and testing activities where data validation is required.
  • Work closely with product, engineering, and QA teams to ensure data integrity across releases and workflows.
  • Help maintain repeatable analysis approaches and reporting processes.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, business intelligence, or related roles.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational data sources.
  • Experience analyzing healthcare, operational, or enterprise data in complex environments.
  • Ability to interpret business needs and convert them into analytical deliverables.
  • Experience with data quality review, reconciliation, and validation practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and business audiences.
  • Experience using reporting, dashboard, or data visualization tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work across multiple priorities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Public Health, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to obtain a Government clearance.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with Department of Veterans Affairs, federal data programs, or healthcare reporting environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data models, interoperability standards, or clinical data exchange is a plus.
  • Experience supporting Agile teams, testing activities, or requirements analysis is desirable.
  • Exposure to FHIR, HL7, CCDA, or healthcare data integration workflows is a plus.
  • Experience with BI tools, Python, or advanced analytics approaches is desirable.
