Position Summary

The CVS Health Women's Health and Genomics team is part of the Enterprise Medical Affairs organization group responsible for advancing the highest clinical quality standards, increasing access to care, improving patient outcomes and reducing health care costs across the enterprise. We deliver effective and efficient solutions that span a broad range of clinical priorities and initiatives.

As Manager, Clinical Informatics & Analytics, on the Enterprise Women's Health and Genomics Team, you will be responsible for advanced analytics, clinical informatics, modeling of clinical and claims data, and hypothesis-driven approaches to generate actionable, customer-centric insights. These insights will help operationalize the strategy and drive growth, ensure cost-effectiveness, improve health outcomes, and expand access to healthcare across all CVS Health businesses. Your work will also inform financial reporting to enterprise business partners.

This role aligned with a Sr. Decision Scientist position will also help support opportunities to develop and deploy AI/ML solutions for Women's Health & Genomics operations with a focus on improving workflows, administrative efficiencies, quality, cost, and access.

In this role, you will support the team's Data Scientist lead with the following:

  • Analyze claims, utilization, and clinical data to inform strategic initiatives and identify healthcare gaps and opportunities
  • Explore structured and unstructured clinical datasets to uncover patterns to generate structured, actionable downstream analytics, and predictive modeling
  • Use Business Intelligence (BI) tools and reporting platforms (Tableau, Power BI, SQL, SAS)
  • Develop operational reports and dashboards
  • Cross-functional partnership to identify needs, mitigate risk, and drive alignment
  • Serve as a SME for analytics workflows and with data governance
  • Partner with enterprise AI, data science, and technology teams under enterprise governance to deploy scalable AI solutions into production workflows
  • Apply and operationalize responsible AI principles to automate analytics workflows, improve reporting efficiency, and accelerate insight generation

Essential Qualifications:

  • 5+ years' experience in healthcare analytics, finance, or strategy with 2+ years in data science, machine learning (ML), or applied Natural Language Processing (NLP)
  • Experience in clinical analytics environment (preferably relative to women's health and genomics)
  • Knowledge of clinical diagnostic and billing coding systems and terminologies (ICD-10, CPT, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of reimbursement models (FFS and value-based care) and claims-based analytics
  • Advanced BI and statistical analysis skills with experience in ML platforms
  • Experience with PHI handling, compliant with privacy and security laws: HIPAA, etc.
  • Proven ability to be proactive, creative, and nimble in their approach to enable success in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and initiatives across a range of topic areas
  • Willingness to work within matrixed teams to drive innovation and value but also to continuously adapt as required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Python and SQL for working with large-scale healthcare datasets
  • Technical - Aetna Applications/Enterprise Data Warehouse/2-5 Years/Power User
  • Technical - Data visualization software (ex. ThoughtSpot, Tableau)

Education:

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in health informatics, biostatistics, computer science, data science mathematics, biomedical informatics, or related-or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience
  • Preferred: Master's degree or higher in Health Informatics, Biomedical Informatics, Clinical Informatics, Public Health, Epidemiology, Data Science or AI in a related field is a plus

The typical pay range for this role is:

$101,970.00 - $203,940.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
