Does NASA hire pure mathematicians?

NASA employs mathematicians, including those with expertise in pure mathematics, for research, data analysis, and problem-solving roles. These positions often require strong analytical skills, advanced degrees, and familiarity with mathematical tools such as programming languages and modeling software.

What are remote pure mathematics jobs?

Remote pure mathematics jobs involve conducting mathematical research, analysis, or teaching from a location outside of a traditional office or campus, typically from home. Professionals in these roles work on developing and exploring abstract mathematical theories without necessarily focusing on direct applications. They may collaborate with fellow mathematicians online, contribute to academic papers, or teach courses virtually. Remote positions are often found in academia, research institutions, or with organizations needing advanced mathematical expertise. These jobs require strong analytical skills, self-motivation, and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly in a virtual environment.

Can mathematicians work remotely?

Mathematicians, including those in pure mathematics, can often work remotely, especially in research, data analysis, or theoretical work that requires minimal physical resources. Many roles involve using computers, mathematical software, and online collaboration tools, making remote work feasible with appropriate skills and communication tools.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Pure Mathematician, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Pure Mathematician, you need advanced mathematical knowledge, strong analytical skills, and typically a master's or doctoral degree in mathematics or a related field. Proficiency with mathematical software such as LaTeX, Mathematica, MATLAB, and collaboration tools like Overleaf or Zoom is essential. Exceptional problem-solving ability, self-motivation, and clear written communication help you excel in remote, research-driven environments. These skills ensure rigorous research output, effective collaboration, and the ability to contribute meaningfully to the mathematical community from a distance.

How much do pure mathematicians get paid?

Pure mathematicians' salaries vary based on experience, education, and employment sector. In academic and research roles, salaries typically range from $50,000 to $120,000 annually, while industry positions can pay between $70,000 and $150,000 or more, especially for those with advanced skills in data analysis or computational tools.

Does the FBI hire mathematicians?

Yes, the FBI hires mathematicians, often in roles related to cryptography, data analysis, and cybersecurity. These positions typically require strong analytical skills, a background in mathematics or related fields, and security clearances. Mathematicians in the FBI may work on intelligence analysis, code-breaking, or developing algorithms for investigations.

Job description

Are you a mathematics expert fluent in Dutch, eager to shape the future of AI? Largescale language models are evolving from clever chatbots into powerful engines of scientific discovery. With highquality training data, tomorrow's AI can democratize worldclass education, keep pace with cuttingedge research, and streamline academic work for students and professionals everywhere. That training data begins with you-we need your expertise to help power the next generation of AI.

We're looking for mathematics specialists who live and breathe algebra, calculus, number theory, linear algebra, differential equations, statistics, geometry, mathematical logic, and discrete mathematics. You'll challenge advanced language models on topics like real and complex analysis, optimization theory, mathematical proofs, set theory, probability distributions, cryptographic algorithms, and applied mathematics-documenting every failure mode so we can harden model reasoning.

On a typical day, you will converse with the model on classroom problems and theoretical mathematics questions, verify factual accuracy and logical soundness, capture reproducible error traces, and suggest improvements to our prompt engineering and evaluation metrics.

A master's or PhD in mathematics or a closely related quantitative field is ideal; peerreviewed publications, teaching experience, research in pure or applied mathematics, or handson experience with mathematical modeling signal fit. Clear, metacognitive communication-"showing your work"-is essential.

Ready to turn your mathematics expertise into the knowledge base for tomorrow's AI? Apply today and start teaching the model that will teach the world.

We offer a pay range of $6-to$65 per hour, with the exact rate determined after evaluating your experience, expertise, and geographic location. Final offer amounts may vary from the pay range listed above. As a contractor you'll supply a secure computer and highspeed internet; companysponsored benefits such as health insurance and PTO do not apply.
