This position allows for a flexible remote work environment, enabling you to provide essential support to patients at a detox center in Newark, New Jersey. Though primarily remote, you will collaborate with a dedicated clinical team and participate in virtual meetings to coordinate care and ensure seamless communication. • Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments to evaluate the emotional, social, and financial circumstances of patients entering the detox program.
• Provide individual and group counseling sessions, focusing on adjustment challenges, grief, and coping strategies related to substance use and recovery.
• Develop detailed discharge plans, coordinating with community organizations to facilitate aftercare services and ensure continuity of care post-discharge.
• Offer education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment options and resources available during the recovery process.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and rehabilitation specialists, to create integrated care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
• Utilize crisis intervention techniques as necessary, providing immediate support and resources to patients experiencing acute distress.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all interactions in compliance with legal requirements and organizational policies.

The patient population served in this detox center primarily consists of individuals facing substance use disorders who require compassionate and comprehensive support as they begin their journey to recovery. These patients may be experiencing a wide range of psychosocial challenges, including emotional distress, isolation, and significant life transitions. As an LCSW, you will provide crucial support to enhance their overall mental health and well-being.

• A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited program is required.
• Current state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New Jersey.

• Minimum of two years of experience working in healthcare or hospital settings, particularly in substance use prevention or intensive outpatient programs.
• Strong knowledge of crisis intervention techniques, mental health disorders, and medical terminology relevant to the detox and rehabilitation process.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with patients and interdisciplinary teams.
