Project Controls Coordinator Summary:
NG Gilbert Construction is seeking a Project Controls Coordinator to support operational performance across multiple utility construction markets. This role will be responsible for tracking project productivity, labor utilization, scheduling activities, and cost performance to help ensure projects are properly staffed, accurately monitored, and executed efficiently.
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting electrical utility construction operations and possess strong analytical, scheduling, and reporting skills. This position serves as a key operational resource, providing leadership with visibility into labor performance, project progress, resource allocation, and productivity metrics.
This position supports operations across multiple states, with occasional travel for meetings as needed.
Duties/ Responsibilities
  • Track and monitor project labor hours, production rates, and cost performance across multiple active projects.
  • Maintain and update daily, weekly, and monthly productivity reports.
  • Analyze actual labor hours against planned labor hours and identify variances.
  • Assist with workforce planning and resource allocation to ensure projects are appropriately staffed.
  • Monitor project schedules and coordinate with operations leadership regarding project status and staffing needs.
  • Track equipment utilization and support planning efforts related to project execution.
  • Develop and maintain Excel-based reports, dashboards, and tracking tools.
  • Provide operational reporting and analysis to company leadership.
  • Support emergency utility restoration and storm response activities when required.
  • Assist with identifying operational trends, productivity concerns, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with project managers, field leadership, and operations teams to ensure accurate project tracking and reporting.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in project controls, project coordination, operations support, scheduling, construction administration, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting utility construction, electrical distribution, infrastructure, or related industries strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of overhead and underground electrical distribution construction preferred.
  • Strong understanding of labor tracking, productivity analysis, and project cost structures.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
