Pay Rate: $45-$50/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (EST)

Position Overview
LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced Payroll Tax Expert to support high-volume, multi-state payroll operations for a remote contract opportunity. This role will focus on ensuring payroll tax accuracy, compliance, and reconciliation across multiple jurisdictions while partnering closely with payroll and HR teams. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with Workday and UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Process and review high-volume, multi-state payroll tax calculations and filings
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
  • Manage payroll tax registration, remittance, and reconciliation activities
  • Research and resolve payroll tax discrepancies and employee tax inquiries
  • Support audits, notices, and payroll tax adjustments as needed
  • Partner with payroll, HR, and finance teams to ensure accurate payroll processing
  • Maintain documentation and ensure payroll tax data integrity within systems
  • Utilize Workday and UKG to support payroll tax reporting and compliance efforts
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of payroll tax experience in a high-volume environment
  • Strong multi-state payroll processing experience
  • Hands-on experience with Workday and UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group)
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
  • Experience reconciling payroll tax filings and resolving discrepancies
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting payroll audits or responding to tax agency notices
  • Prior experience working in a contract or consulting capacity
  • Knowledge of payroll tax processes across multiple jurisdictions
