Job description

We're looking for an exceptional Staff Product Designer to help craft the future of Oura across surfaces. You'll help define new product experiences, elevate existing ones, and shape how millions of people engage with their health.

This role is built for a generalist at heart: a designer who's equally at home prototyping a bold new concept, refining a high-visibility consumer flow, or untangling a technical, workflow-heavy problem into something that feels simple. You'll partner closely with Product, Engineering, Research, and Data Science, and with a design team that puts the work, and each other, first.

This is a hybrid role based out of our San Francisco office, with an expectation to be on-site at least half-time.

What you'll do
  • Lead end-to-end design of complex product experiences, driving 01 initiatives from early concepts through polished, production-ready work
  • Move fluidly across very different problem spaces: consumer-facing experiences, data-dense and technical products, and new AI-powered capabilities
  • Transform complex, sensitive information into experiences that feel clear, trustworthy, and human
  • Shape product strategy and influence direction through strong design rationale and excellent storytelling
  • Raise the bar for the whole team through mentorship, critique, and a genuine investment in the people around you
What you'll bring
  • 8+ years designing digital products, with demonstrated range across surfaces and problem types - including high-craft consumer work and technical or data-rich products
  • A portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual and interaction design, with a track record of shipping 01 products
  • Experience designing outside an established design system-ideally you've helped build or scale one from scratch
  • An entrepreneurial mindset: you take ownership, create clarity in ambiguity, and push work forward without waiting for permission
  • Genuine enthusiasm for AI as a design material-you're proactive with AI tools in your process
  • A team-first spirit: you make the people and the work around you better, and you'd rather win together than be right alone
  • Fluency in Figma, modern prototyping tools and design workflows
  • Comfort working across distributed teams and time zones
We love
  • Experience designing in health, wellness, or other data-sensitive spaces where trust is earned in the details
  • Designers who've shipped LLM-powered products and have a point of view on where these capabilities create real user value
  • A background that mixes founding-designer or startup work with time at a larger, established company; agency experience is a plus
