Position Summary

The BESS Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing goods and services required to support business operations. This role works closely with internal stakeholders and vendors to ensure timely procurement, cost-effective purchasing, and compliance with company policies.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Source and procure materials, equipment, and services based on business needs.
  • Obtain and evaluate vendor quotations, proposals, and pricing.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and contract terms with suppliers.
  • Create and process purchase orders and ensure accuracy of procurement documentation.
  • Monitor purchase order status and coordinate deliveries with vendors.
  • Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and identify new sourcing opportunities.
  • Resolve issues related to pricing, quality, shortages, and delivery delays.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and other departments to support purchasing requirements.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and supplier information.
  • Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and applicable regulations.
  • Track supplier performance and recommend process improvements to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Assist with inventory planning and replenishment when required.
  • Assist with process writing and implementation
  • Participate in supplier selection, onboarding, and periodic supplier evaluations.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects related to process improvement, system enhancements, or procurement initiatives.
  • Analyze purchasing data and prepare reports on spending, cost savings, supplier performance, and procurement metrics.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience.
  • Experience negotiating with suppliers and managing vendor relationships.
  • Experience with ERP or procurement systems is preferred
  • Experience in construction, manufacturing, energy, or industrial environments is preferred


Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

This position primarily works in an office, hybrid, or remote environment using a computer, phone, and standard office equipment.

  • Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment, including computers, phones, and related technology.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move office materials or equipment up to 15 pounds.
  • Ability to travel to project sites, meetings, or company locations as needed.
