Job description

The Microsoft Intune Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-wide mobile device management (MDM) and mobile application management (MAM) solutions using Microsoft Intune. This role requires expertise in modern workplace management, security, and cloud-based endpoint management strategies. The Architect will lead migration projects from legacy MDM solutions, plan transitions from on-premises to cloud-based management, and develop modern device management strategies for remote and hybrid workforces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess the current IT environment and develop transformation roadmaps.
  • Architect and implement Microsoft Intune and Endpoint Manager solutions for secure and scalable endpoint management.
  • Develop architecture diagrams, deployment strategies, and documentation tailored to federal compliance requirements (e.g., FISMA, NIST 800-53, and FedRAMP).
  • Design zero-touch deployment workflows using provisioning tools such as Apple Business Manager.
  • Configure and manage Microsoft Intune for device enrollment, compliance policies, security baselines, and MAM.
  • Integrate Intune with Microsoft 365 solutions, including Azure Active Directory (AAD), Conditional Access, and Defender for Endpoint.
  • Automate and customize tasks using PowerShell scripting.
  • Ensure endpoint management solutions align with federal cybersecurity standards, including data encryption, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and multi-factor authentication.
  • Support security assessments, vulnerability management, and remediation efforts for devices.
  • Collaborate with federal IT teams and stakeholders to enhance endpoint management strategies.
  • Provide technical leadership and act as the subject matter expert (SME) for Microsoft Intune and related technologies.
  • Offer Tier 3 support to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in the Intune environment.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance and health of the Intune platform to identify and implement improvements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of IT experience, with 4+ years specializing in designing, implementing, and managing Microsoft Intune solutions.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Intune, including device compliance policies, configuration profiles, application management, and reporting.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft 365 solutions (e.g., Azure AD, Endpoint Manager, Conditional Access).
  • Proven ability to configure and manage endpoint security baselines, threat protection, and VPN policies for high-security environments.
  • Knowledge of federal security frameworks (e.g., FISMA, NIST 800-53, FedRAMP) and IT security standards, including encryption, MFA, and data loss prevention.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and task customization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with other endpoint management platforms (e.g., Blackberry UEM).
  • Familiarity with network technologies, including VPNs, firewalls, and DNS, and their integration with endpoint management.
  • Previous experience supporting federal government clients or regulated industries.
  • Hands-on experience with Apple Business Manager and mobile device management.
  • Project management skills and experience leading technical teams.
  • Relevant certifications, such as:
    • Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
