The Need

Forover25 years, IJM has pioneered the workto protectvulnerable people from violence.9 out of 9 times in the last decade, IJM's Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% forvery largepopulations of people in poverty.As we grow to expand our impact toprotect 500 million people from violence, weareseekinga People Events Associate to manage the planning, coordination, and execution of the Global Prayer Gathering (GPG), one of IJM's most significant global events, and deliver a spiritually meaningful and operationally excellent gathering that brings together staff and supporters from around the world.

This position is hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays) iflocatedin the Washington, DC area or remote for non-local candidates. It reports to Director, People Events and is only available for candidates with the right to work in the US.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the day-to-day planning and execution of the Global Prayer Gathering by managing timelines, budgets, and stakeholder coordination to ensure seamless delivery;

  • Coordinate cross-functional workstreams to ensure alignment, accountability, and collaboration across teams;

  • Serve as the lead for event registration and participant experience initiatives;

  • Manage eventlogisticsand vendor relationships including contracting, procurement, and coordination with external partners;

  • Proactivelyidentifyrisks and implement solutions that enhance the attendee experience and event outcomes;

  • Build collaborative relationships across departments and global teams;

  • Ensure workstream leaders have the information, tools, and support needed to execute their responsibilities successfully;

  • Communicate clearly and consistently with internal stakeholders throughout the planning cycle;

  • Manage event-related communications with external vendors, partners, and constituents as needed;

  • Facilitate post-event evaluations, including surveys, reporting, and stakeholder feedback;

  • Analyze outcomes and recommend improvements that strengthen future event experiences;

  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence across People Events;

  • Partner with the Employee Experience and Global People Support Events teams onadditionalemployee engagement events throughout the year;

  • Provide support for organization-wide initiatives that advance employee connection, culture, and engagement; and

  • Participation in IJM's community of spiritual formation.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience;

  • 5-10+ years of experience planning, coordinating, or managing large-scale events;

  • Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities;

  • Proven ability to manage project timelines, budgets, and operational details simultaneously;

  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail;

  • Experience coordinating global events or working across cultures and with internationally distributed teams;

  • Familiarity with event registration systems and attendee experience management;

  • Experience working in mission-driven, non-profit, faith-based, or international organizations; and

  • Mature orthodox Christian faith as defined by the Apostles' Creed.
