Success in this position requires leading new business development initiatives, providing deep application and product expertise, and collaborating across functions to deliver value to customers. The role also serves as a key ambassador for ILA by actively participating in industry associations, technical forums, and global collaboration with Idemitsu's international off-highway sector leaders to help shape strategy, share market intelligence, and strengthen our position in the industry.

What Idemitsu seeks:

Idemitsu is seeking an experienced Account Manager to drive growth and strengthen relationships with leading heavy equipment OEMs across the United States and Canada. This role is responsible for expanding existing business, developing new OEM partnerships, and delivering long-term value to customers in the construction, mining, agriculture, and material handling industries.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record in OEM account management, with experience supporting both factory-fill and service-fill lubricant programs. This individual is a strategic relationship builder who can identify new business opportunities, manage complex customer accounts, and collaborate effectively across internal and external teams to achieve sustained growth.

What you’ll be doing (a Day in the Life):

  • Manage and grow direct relationships with heavy equipment OEM customers, leading both factory-fill and genuine oil program initiatives.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor, providing expert guidance on the performance, application, and value of Idemitsu's lubricant solutions.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities to expand OEM partnerships, increase market share, and achieve sales growth objectives.
  • Work closely with customers to evaluate lubrication challenges, recommend effective technical solutions, and develop commercial opportunities that support their operational goals.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitive activity, using market insights to strengthen Idemitsu's value proposition and collaborate with cross-functional teams on product, service, and program enhancements.

Travel requirements:

  • Available for travel across the United States and Canada on a regular basis (50% minimum)

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Industry Expertise: Solid understanding of the construction, mining, agriculture, and material handling equipment industries.
  • Sales Experience: Minimum of 3 years of OEM sales experience in industries related to heavy equipment sales, service, and lubricants.
  • Lubrication Knowledge: Familiarity with engine oils, hydraulic fluids, gear oils, transmission fluids, coolants, and greases.
  • Education: A degree in business or a related technical field is preferred; equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
