About the role

As we rapidly scale in the U.S., we’re looking for a Senior Distribution Engineer to join our growing team and help shape the future of clean energy! In this role, you'll combine your technical expertise in electrical power systems with a consultative sales approach to help utility customers identify challenges, evaluate solutions, and realize value from envelio's Intelligent Grid Platform (IGP). You'll work closely with prospective and existing customers to understand their business objectives, demonstrate how our solutions address their needs, and support them throughout the sales and implementation journey.This position is ideal for someone who enjoys translating complex technical concepts into practical business outcomes and thrives at the intersection of engineering, customer engagement, and business development.

What you’ll do
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to utility customers, translating complex electrical engineering concepts into customer-focused solutions.
  • Identify customer challenges, assess existing processes and technology landscapes, and develop solution recommendations that drive measurable business value.
  • Partner with sales and business development teams to prospect new customers, expand existing relationships, and support revenue growth objectives.
  • Conduct technical discovery sessions, workshops, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concept engagements with utility stakeholders.
  • Build compelling business cases and ROI analyses to help customers evaluate technology investments and support decision-making.
  • Develop and deliver executive-level presentations, technical proposals, and solution recommendations.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and customer success teams to ensure customer needs and market feedback are reflected in product development and go-to-market strategies.
  • Support contract discussions, scope definition, and technical evaluations throughout the sales process.
  • Represent envelio at industry conferences, webinars, and customer events to strengthen market presence and industry relationships.
What you’ll bring to the team
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in technical sales, field application engineering, consulting, electrical construction, utility engineering, or a similar customer-facing technical role.
  • Experience with utility planning and engineering software such as CYME, Synergi, GIS platforms, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of distributed energy resources (DERs), interconnection processes, hosting capacity analysis, or grid modernization initiatives.
  • Experience working with SaaS solutions or software implementation projects.
  • Strong understanding of electric utility operations, power systems, and electrical distribution networks. Familiarity with utility regulatory environments and planning processes a plus.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and navigate customer organizations.
  • Experience working with CRM systems and sales enablement tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a consultative mindset.
