Job description

Power Platform Developer (Contract) Location: Primarily remote, with occasional onsite visits to Montvale, NJ

Overview
We are partnering with a leading global organization to bring on two experienced Power Platform Developers for long-term contract engagements. These roles will focus on designing and building applications from the ground up, supporting high-impact initiatives that modernize legacy systems and streamline complex, workflow-driven processes.

This is an opportunity for developers who thrive in a collaborative environment but can also work independently, interpret requirements, and contribute thoughtful, creative solutions—not simply execute on predefined specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement custom applications using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate)
  • Build solutions from the ground up, with a strong focus on workflow optimization and user experience
  • Collaborate closely with the Lead Developer, Business Analysts, and Business Process Leads to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Interpret requirements, storyboard solutions, and independently drive development efforts
  • Integrate applications with SQL Server, APIs, Dataverse, and SharePoint
  • Configure security roles and support governance within the Power Platform
  • Contribute to Agile development processes using Azure DevOps (epics, features, user stories, PBIs)
  • Participate in code management and CI/CD pipelines
  • Provide recommendations on best practices and mentor team members as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience developing applications from scratch using Power Apps and Power Automate
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Power Platform, including premium connectors
  • Experience working with SQL Server as a backend data source
  • Familiarity with Dataverse and SharePoint integrations
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and source control best practices
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; not a “heads-down” development role
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
  • Work schedule aligned with Eastern Business Hours (EST/EDT)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Power BI experience
  • Power Platform administration experience
  • Experience configuring security roles and governance models
  • Prior experience mentoring or guiding junior team members

Additional Details:

  • This role is primarily remote; however, candidates should be local to the Montvale, NJ area and able to attend occasional onsite meetings as needed
