Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Project Manager to oversee custom electrical power distribution projects from initial customer requirements through manufacturing, shipment, and final project completion. The ideal candidate has experience managing engineered-to-order manufacturing projects and enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Manage custom power distribution projects from project kickoff through engineering, procurement, manufacturing, testing, shipment, and closeout.
  • Serve as the primary contact for customers throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate activities between sales, application engineering, design engineering, supply chain, production, quality, and logistics teams.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules while monitoring key milestones and deliverables.
  • Establish achievable production and delivery schedules based on material availability and manufacturing capacity.
  • Lead project kickoff meetings and track action items to ensure timely completion.
  • Manage customer change requests, engineering revisions, and schedule adjustments.
  • Coordinate Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), documentation packages, and shipment readiness.
  • Identify project risks early and work with cross-functional teams to develop solutions.
  • Maintain accurate project records, scheduling updates, performance metrics, and on-time delivery reporting.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Five or more years of project management experience in manufacturing, electrical equipment, or electromechanical industries.
  • Experience managing engineered-to-order (ETO) or custom manufacturing projects.
  • Strong understanding of project scheduling, order management, and long-lead material planning.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical single-line diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Experience working with engineering, supply chain, production, and quality teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and project scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or Smartsheet.
  • Strong communication, organizational, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple complex projects at the same time.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with electrical power distribution equipment, including switchgear, Power Distribution Centers (PDCs), Remote Power Panels (RPPs), Static Transfer Switches (STS), or UPS systems.
  • PMP certification or active pursuit of certification.
  • Familiarity with UL, NEC, ANSI, or other applicable electrical industry standards.
  • Experience coordinating Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and customer witness testing.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience.
What We Offer
  • Competitive starting salary, with higher compensation available based on experience.
  • Comprehensive benefits package.
  • Opportunities for career growth and professional development.
  • Collaborative team environment supporting innovative electrical manufacturing projects.
