The Opportunity

Shape Something Different - Join our Energy subsector, a vital part of WSP's ERI (Energy, Resources & Industry) sector, delivering solutions that power Canada's energy transition. From upstream and downstream oil and gas to renewable energy markets, we partner with clients across the full project lifecycle-designing, engineering, and innovating for a low-carbon future.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer on our Energy team, you'll join a powerhouse group of innovators, problemsolvers, and worldbuilders who thrive on tackling complex challenges across renewable energy, power generation, and energymodernization projects.  Here, your expertise won't just support projects-it will energize entire systems and play a key role in building resilient, futureready solutions that advance our clients' missions and strengthen the communities we serve.

This position can be located in any of our Canadian offices, with preference for our BC and AB locations.

Deliver seniorlevel electrical engineering for medium and large projects within the energy and power generation sector; everything from design basis development, equipment selection, detailed design, and field implementation.
Lead client and stakeholder engagement to clarify needs, define scope, and ensure alignment through all project phases.
Guide multidisciplinary coordination to support cost control, scheduling, procurement, reporting, and construction support activities.
Develop feasibility studies, technical reports, and conceptual design packages.
Review, stamp, and approve drawings and documents while ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and client requirements.
Specify equipment from first principles and apply simulation tools and internal engineering models.
Mentor and coach junior engineers and designers, building a collaborative learning environment.
Manage scope, schedule, change control, and deliverables in alignment with project execution plans.
Uphold and promote corporate and client procedures, contributing to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Provide senior support on negotiation of critical engineering issues and contribute to proposal development.

The Skills That Set You Apart

At least 10+ years of EPCM electrical engineering experience within the energy and power generation sectors.
Proven success in a Lead Engineer capacity, guiding teams through complex project execution.
Strong technical depth across electrical systems design, field operations, and engineering analysis tools.
Ability to independently manage projects, drive outcomes, and support multidiscipline collaboration.
A passion for developing others and contributing to a highperformance engineering culture.
