Job Summary

The Level III Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for leading business intelligence workstreams, translating business needs into data-driven solutions, and delivering accurate, reliable, and actionable reporting and analytics. This role partners closely with business and technology stakeholders to gather requirements, design BI solutions, establish standards, support data quality, and help business partners use information to identify trends, patterns, risks, and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create visualizations that support quick consumption, collaboration, exploration, transparency, and storytelling with information.
  • Train end users on reports, dashboards, patterns, and anomalies, and mentor internal team members on processes, policies, procedures, and BI practices.
  • Analyze business problems, develop models, and provide insights that help explain trends, patterns, anomalies, and business performance.
  • Recommend key performance indicators for multiple business units and explain how metrics are calculated and used.
  • Lead BI project workstreams, including requirements gathering, scope development, technical design, development, testing, and delivery.
  • Create and maintain templates, development standards, reporting standards, and visualization standards for team use.
  • Partner with IT and business stakeholders to design BI solutions that support operational decision-making and business strategy.
  • Develop and optimize complex SQL queries using views, stored procedures, table-valued functions, subqueries, indexing concepts, execution plans, and multiple databases.
  • Apply deep knowledge of relevant databases, data structures, and business data sources to deliver accurate and trusted reporting products.
  • Influence business partners on BI best practices, report design, data interpretation, and prioritization of work.
  • Lead testing scenario creation and execution, audit work for accuracy, and ensure delivered products meet high data quality standards.
  • Research new BI technologies, interface with vendors, participate in vendor evaluations, and recommend tools or approaches that improve analytics capabilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience developing, maintaining, and improving business intelligence reports, dashboards, metrics, and analytical solutions.
  • Strong SQL skills, including experience with complex queries, database objects, functions, joins, indexing concepts, and performance considerations.
  • Deep understanding of BI tools, reporting functionality, data visualization principles, and how business users consume analytics.
  • Ability to gather and translate business requirements into clear technical and analytical deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead internal workstreams, manage multiple priorities, and influence stakeholders on sequencing and prioritization.
  • Experience validating data, creating test scenarios, executing test plans, and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Ability to identify patterns, trends, correlations, anomalies, and business implications from complex data.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain metrics, findings, recommendations, and data limitations to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience mentoring peers or team members on BI processes, reporting standards, data interpretation, or tool usage.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting multiple business units or cross-functional reporting initiatives.
  • Experience with BI platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar visualization and dashboarding tools.
  • Experience with Data Blending tools such as Alteryx, DataIku, Informatica, Snaplogic, or similar.
  • Experience researching, evaluating, or recommending new reporting, analytics, or data technology capabilities.
  • Understanding of data security processes, dashboard access, database access, and related ticketing or access request workflows.
  • Familiarity with advanced analytics concepts and how predictive or prescriptive analytics can support business decision-making.

Salary Range:

$68,970.00 - $113,310.00

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
