Job description

The Senior SharePoint Consultant is responsible for leading SharePoint administration, architecture, and modernization initiatives while supporting Power Platform solutions that extend SharePoint capabilities. This role focuses on infrastructure, governance, and migrations across SharePoint On-Premises, SharePoint Subscription Edition, and SharePoint Online. The consultant will also build and support Power Apps and Power Automate solutions that complement SharePoint environments. This position requires a seasoned SharePoint professional who understands how to use the Power Platform appropriately without converting every request into a full application project. Occasional client travel may be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer and support SharePoint On-Premises, SharePoint Subscription Edition, and SharePoint Online
  • Design and maintain SharePoint architecture including information architecture, taxonomy, permissions, governance, and lifecycle management
  • Conduct SharePoint environment assessments to identify risks, modernization opportunities, and performance issues
  • Support integrations with Microsoft 365 services such as Teams, OneDrive, Exchange, and Entra ID
  • Lead migrations from SharePoint On-Premises to SharePoint Subscription Edition and SharePoint Online
  • Lead migrations from file servers and third party repositories to SharePoint Online and OneDrive
  • Develop migration strategies, runbooks, and cutover plans
  • Remediate legacy permissions, metadata, customizations, and content structures
  • Execute and validate migrations using tools such as ShareGate, AvePoint, and Microsoft migration utilities
  • Troubleshoot migration failures and resolve post migration issues
  • Build Power Apps and Power Automate solutions that enhance SharePoint
  • Modernize legacy InfoPath forms, SharePoint customizations, and Nintex workflows when appropriate
  • Support existing Power Platform solutions tied to SharePoint environments
  • Collaborate with Power Platform developers on complex application scenarios
  • Participate in discovery, requirements gathering, design, implementation, migration, testing, and post go live support
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by communicating risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations
  • Manage deliverables across multiple concurrent client engagements
  • Communicate progress, issues, and outcomes to internal teams and client stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for SharePoint administration, Microsoft 365 configuration, and migration validation
  • Promote best practices for SharePoint architecture, migrations, and Power Platform integration
  • Contribute to documentation, standards, and reusable migration frameworks
  • Stay current with Microsoft roadmaps for SharePoint Subscription Edition, SharePoint Online, and Power Platform
  • Pursue relevant certifications and continued professional development

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 5 or more years of hands on SharePoint administration and solution delivery
  • Strong experience with SharePoint On-Premises and SharePoint Online
  • Demonstrated experience leading SharePoint and file server migrations
  • Hands on experience with Power Apps and Power Automate
  • Prior consulting or client facing experience preferred
  • Deep experience with SharePoint On-Premises, SharePoint Subscription Edition, and SharePoint Online
  • Strong understanding of permissions, governance, information architecture, and security
  • Experience integrating SharePoint with Microsoft 365 services
  • Hands on experience with Canvas Power Apps
  • Hands on experience with Power Automate
  • Ability to modernize legacy SharePoint workflows and forms
  • Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory or Entra ID, IIS, SSL, DNS, and SQL Server
  • Proficiency with PowerShell
  • Experience with ShareGate or similar migration tools
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting ability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
  • Comfortable working with client stakeholders up to the Director level

Additional requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Must meet ITAR and EAR requirements as a U.S. Person or be eligible for applicable licensing
