Home and Community Mental Care, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our remote team. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, you will play a crucial role in delivering therapeutic services tailored to the unique needs of children and their families. Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting individual therapy sessions in clients' homes or group therapy sessions at our outpatient clinic, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
• Implementing effective strategies to reduce high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior or physical aggression through teaching anger management techniques and coping skills.
• Assisting caregivers and young clients in improving decision-making skills to effectively address behavioral challenges within the home.
• Collaborating consistently with the Child Family Treatment Team and other specialists, enhancing therapeutic outcomes and family support.
• Documenting all relevant client information, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, in compliance with organizational protocols.
• Participating in regular meetings, providing insights and recommendations to aid overall team objectives and client wellbeing.

This position focuses primarily on children and adolescents aged 3-20 with developmental and intellectual disabilities. These clients may experience a range of behavioral challenges requiring specialized therapeutic interventions. As a result, your expertise in working with this demographic will be vital to their personal growth and development.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field.
• An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license.
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4 PM - 7 PM), with some weekend availability preferred.

While not mandatory, candidates with the following experiences will be prioritized:

• Experience providing positive behavior support strategies.
• Prior experience working with children and adolescents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for home visits.
• A successful background check, including fingerprinting, to ensure client safety.
