About the role:

Medical Assistant provides support/assistance to a Care Team of physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) providing care to patients. Responsible for collecting all relevant medical information from patients and performing administrative tasks relative to practice and patient needs.

Work Location:

This is a remote position, open to candidates who reside in: Arizona; Arkansas; California; Colorado; District of Columbia; Florida; Georgia; Illinois; Massachusetts; Michigan; Nevada; New Hampshire; New Jersey; New York; North Carolina; Ohio; Pennsylvania; Texas; or Virginia. While your daily work will be completed from your home office, occasional travel may be required for team meetings and company events.

Pay Transparency:

The base pay for this role is: 21.50 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide live video virtual check in and check out support for patients
  • Provide live phone and messaging support for patients
  • Provide support for your Care Team, including virtual physicians, APPs and RNs
  • Plan for each patient's medical needs from initial outreach, care coordination, to resolution
  • Assist with the order process, including sending requisition forms and coordinating referrals
  • Close the loop with providers after referrals are made, including collecting patient notes from providers
  • Schedule appointments with patients for follow up care
  • Call providers and facilities to clarify information and help solve complex cases
  • Coordinate with internal and external parties to ensure patients needs are met (Laboratories, Imaging Facilities, Pharmacies, Vendors)
  • Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Medical Assistant Certification
  • 1+ year of experience working as a Medical Assistant in a primary care, urgent care or multi-specialty clinic
  • Spanish language fluency; must complete verbal and written proficiency exams [if moved to required - language differential to be paid upon passing language assessment]
