Summary
You will serve as a Hydro Repairperson for Bureau of Reclamation. Make a difference in the West by assisting in meeting increasing water demands while protecting the environment.

Duties

Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following:

• Performs inspection, operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and structures associated with Leadville Mine Drainage Water Treatment Plant and related facilities
• Cleans, lubricates, and checks the mechanical operation of the turbines, governors, and auxiliary equipment, including air compressors, water pumps, ventilating fans, oil pumps, and other powerplant equipment.
• Assists other journeyman crafts with maintenance and performing switching and clearance procedures associated with Leadville Mine Drainage Water Treatment Plant and related facilities.
• Performs routine inspections of the mechanical and electrical equipment and reports unsatisfactory operation and unusual operating conditions or data to treatment plant supervisor.
• Performs non-specialized work in different trade occupations such as carpentry, pest control, rough concrete, minor plumbing, rough welding, or painting.

Physical Demands: Routinely lifts, carries and moves up to 50 pounds. May be required to lift and move heavier items with the assistance of others and/or with lifting devices. Frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling and sitting for long periods may be required. Routinely required to push, pull, bend, reach, walk, stand, crawl, kneel, work overhead and work at heights. Climbs scaffolding and ladders. May use power and hand tools to perform work.
Working Conditions: Work is performed indoors and in the field during mixed weather seasons and subject to varying terrain requiring increased physical demands to perform duties. May work in close, restricted quarters causing the employee to work in cramped and awkward positions. Employee works on or around moving equipment and energized sources. May travel to remote locations. Incumbent is exposed to irritation or discomfort from, dust, heat, noise, fumes, and from hard, damp floors or ground. The parts and systems worked on are typically dirty, oily, or greasy. Uses protective clothing and equipment including respirators, supplied breathing air apparatuses, fall protection harnesses, etc. May be required to operate other equipment such as motorboats, skid-steer loaders, A TV's/UTV's, etc. May work in hazardous areas with hazardous materials such as from heights, in manskips, in confined spaces, on or around electrically energized equipment, high noise levels, asbestos, lead, epoxies, etc. Works on or around moving equipment or other obstacles such as high voltage lines, trees and walls, etc. Often works at extreme heights and sometimes over water. Works with and properly disposes of hazardous materials used in the performance of assigned tasks. Employee works in the near vicinity of high voltage electrical equipment.
