Remote Pc Dmis Programming information

What is Remote PC DMIS programming?

Remote PC DMIS Programming involves using PC-DMIS software to write, modify, and execute inspection routines for coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) from a remote location. This allows programmers to develop and test part measurement programs without being physically present with the equipment. Remote access can improve efficiency, provide flexibility for skilled programmers, and help manufacturers maintain quality standards regardless of location.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a Remote PC DMIS programmer?

To thrive as a Remote PC-DMIS Programmer, you need expertise in coordinate measuring machine (CMM) programming, strong knowledge of GD&T, and experience with PC-DMIS software, usually supported by a background in mechanical engineering or manufacturing technology. Familiarity with CAD software, metrology equipment, and certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Technician are commonly required. Attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and clear communication are vital soft skills for interpreting technical drawings and collaborating with remote teams. These skills ensure precise measurement programming, efficient quality control, and seamless remote workflow integration.

How does a Remote PC DMIS programmer typically collaborate with on-site teams to ensure accurate CMM inspection results?

As a Remote PC-DMIS Programmer, you will frequently work with on-site quality and engineering teams via video calls, emails, and shared documentation to clarify measurement requirements and resolve any issues with CMM programs. Effective communication is crucial, as you must interpret technical drawings and manufacturing specifications without being physically present. You'll often be responsible for troubleshooting program errors remotely, reviewing inspection data, and providing guidance to operators to ensure measurement accuracy and compliance. Building strong relationships with on-site staff helps streamline workflows and maintain high-quality standards.

Job description

The Systems Integration Engineer is responsible for the successful integration of new client offices from assessment through deployment and handoff. This is a highly hands-on, heavily traveling role that serves as the technical lead for new office buildouts and integrations. The engineer will assess client environments, develop equipment recommendations, and execute onsite deployments of network, PC, and server infrastructure. Working closely with internal teams and onsite client resources ("boots on the ground"), this role manages office integrations to completion while ensuring consistency with client standards and best practices.
This role requires frequent and sometimes extended travel to client sites, including overnight and weekend stays.
Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end integration of new client offices, including planning, onsite deployment, and post-implementation support
  • Conduct onsite and remote assessments of client environments to determine infrastructure needs
  • Deploy, configure, and test network equipment (firewalls, switches, wireless access points), servers, and PCs
  • Coordinate and manage onsite integration activities, including directing and collaborating with local or client-side resources
  • Ensure integrations align with client standards, security requirements, and MSP best practices
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues encountered during deployments and integrations
  • Communicate progress, risks, and completion status to internal teams and stakeholders
  • Work with cross-functional team members to effectively and efficiently support handoff to helpdesk or managed services teams following successful integration
  • Additional duties as needed

Requirements
  • Ability to travel up to 75%, including some weekend travel
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Management & Information Sciences, or similar field preferred
  • Experience in the dental industry highly preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of networking concepts, hardware, and infrastructure (LAN/WAN, firewalls, switching, wireless)
  • Experience deploying and supporting servers, PCs, and related hardware
  • Well-rounded understanding of operating systems, software, and networked environments
  • Ability to assess environments, identify gaps, and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, especially in a travel-heavy role
  • Comfortable working independently and making decisions in the field
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively to client sites
  • Prior experience in an IT MSP environment preferred
  • Experience with office buildouts, relocations, or multi-site integrations required
  • Familiarity with quoting or project scoping for infrastructure deployments
  • Experience coordinating with third-party vendors or local technical resources

Benefits
  • Health care benefits (medical, dental, and vision)
  • Paid time off (and public holidays)
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Life insurance
  • Hybrid or remote work environment
