• Conduct thorough mental health evaluations through preliminary interviews that assess clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional well-being.
• Develop and execute tailored intervention and recovery plans to address the specific needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based therapeutic methods to promote healing and growth.
• Maintain meticulous documentation of client progress from the first consultation through the entirety of their treatment journey.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists and social workers, to support comprehensive client care.
• Monitor clients’ progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to better serve their evolving needs.
• Assist family members and caregivers in understanding mental health challenges and developing strategies to support their loved ones.
• Manage referrals to other specialists and follow up with medical professionals for clients requiring hospitalization or additional support.

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Comfort of Home Counseling Center, you will primarily serve diverse populations facing various mental health challenges, including anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, and adjustment issues. Your role will involve working with individuals of all ages, from children to seniors, as well as couples and families, helping them navigate their specific emotional struggles and fostering resilience and coping strategies.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California.
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective engagement with clients and collaboration with coordinating professionals.
• Empathy, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to create a safe and supportive counseling environment.

• Previous experience in a clinical counseling role or mental health setting.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, especially AVATAR, for documentation and client management.
• Experience working with clients experiencing addiction issues or co-occurring disorders.
• Knowledge of current best practices from the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) and familiarity with medication-related considerations for mental health treatment.
