Indiana Connections Academy (INCA) is a tuition-free, virtual public school for students in grades K-12 throughout Indiana. INCA provides standards-aligned curriculum and instruction and robust academic programming, including special education services; high ability, honors, and dual credit offerings; career readiness programming; project-based learning and STEM experiences; and more.

INCA is authorized by Ball State University and governed by an independent Board of Directors. The school is operated by Indiana Online Learning Options, a nonprofit corporation, through a contract with Connections Academy of Indiana, LLC, to provide its educational program and other services. Position Summary and Responsibilities:

Actively hiring for the 26-27 school year. Working from your home office in Indiana, certified Teachers will virtually manage instructional programs. Working part-time from a home office, the American Sign Language (ASL) Adjunct Teacher will support the mission of the school, teach students, and virtually manage instructional programs. Through use of the phone calls, Class for Zoom sessions, and various curriculum and communication tools, they will consult regularly with students and caretakers/learning coaches to ensure that each student gains proficiency and demonstrates essential skills and standards for the course(s) taught.


The Teacher will be responsible for providing quality instruction and promote student achievement, including the following tasks:


Plan data-driven instruction;
Create and deliver standards-based, objective-driven instruction via web conferencing (Class for Zoom);
Design and provide asynchronous instructional resources;
Provide assessment feedback and complete all grading in a timely manner;
Support students with learning strategies and provide additional assistance with daily assignments;
Provide tiered interventions and targeted support to students as needed.


Requirements

Highly qualified and certified to teach American Sign Language courses (ASL I, II, and III)  in Indiana
Strong technology skills (especially in Google Suite)
Interpersonal Skills: oral and written communication, organization, timeliness, flexibility, collaboration, student-centered practices, problem-solving
Ability to work remotely and travel within the state  of Indiana as needed
Ability to utilize a person cell phone device for multi-factor authentication
