Position Summary

The Contract and Litigation Paralegal provides substantive legal and administrative support across multiple functions, including contract lifecycle management and litigation support. This role works closely with in-house counsel to draft, review, and track contracts, while also assisting with case management, discovery, and preparation for active or pending litigation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable managing competing deadlines across both transactional and litigation workstreams, and able to work independently with sound judgment on matters of moderate complexity.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Paralegal - Contracts & Litigation

Key Responsibilities - Contracts

  • Maintain and organize the contract repository, tracking key dates, renewal terms, and obligations.
  • Conduct due diligence reviews and flag risk provisions, non-standard terms, or compliance concerns for attorney review.
  • Support development and maintenance of contract templates.

Key Responsibilities - Litigation

  • Provide full-cycle litigation support, including intake, and deadline calendaring.
  • Manage discovery processes: document collection, review, privilege logs, and production using e-discovery platforms.
  • Draft and format pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and correspondence under attorney supervision.
  • Coordinate with outside counsel on case logistics and filings.
  • Conduct legal and factual research, and review case files as needed.
  • Ensure timely e-filing and compliance with local court rules and procedures.

Cross-Functional & General Duties

  • Prioritize and manage a mixed caseload of contract and litigation matters simultaneously, escalating conflicts or bottlenecks proactively.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive legal, business, and client information.
  • Support special projects, audits, and process improvement initiatives within the Legal Department.
  • Assist with budget tracking and invoice review for outside counsel engagements.

Qualifications

  • Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred.
  • Minimum 4-6 years of paralegal experience, with demonstrated experience in both contracts/transactional work and litigation support.
  • Working knowledge of civil procedures, e-discovery tools (e.g., DocuSign).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat; comfortable learning new legal technology platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.
  • Notary Public certification a plus.
