What is a remote own schedule job?

Remote Own Schedule jobs are positions that allow employees to work from any location and set their own working hours. Instead of adhering to a traditional 9-to-5 schedule, workers have the flexibility to choose when and where they complete their tasks, as long as they meet deadlines and performance expectations. These jobs are ideal for people seeking better work-life balance, those with other commitments, or individuals in different time zones. Common industries offering such roles include technology, writing, customer service, and consulting.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a remote own schedule worker?

To thrive as a remote worker with a flexible schedule, you need strong time management, self-motivation, and the technical skills required for your specific role, often supported by relevant experience or education. Proficiency with collaboration tools like Slack, Zoom, and project management systems such as Asana or Trello is typically essential. Excellent communication, adaptability, and the ability to work independently are crucial soft skills in this setting. These skills and tools enable productivity, reliability, and seamless collaboration despite the lack of traditional office structure.

How can I effectively manage my time and stay productive in a remote own schedule role?

In a remote, own-schedule position, you have the flexibility to set your hours, but this also means you need strong self-discipline and time management skills. It's helpful to establish a consistent routine, set daily or weekly goals, and use productivity tools like calendars or task managers to stay on track. Regular communication with your team and clear documentation of your progress are crucial, especially since you may not have traditional supervision. Creating a dedicated workspace and minimizing distractions can also help you maintain focus and achieve a healthy work-life balance.

Job description

About this role

We're hiring entry-level Financial Sales Consultants for our remote team. You'll help families find the right financial protection for their needs — by phone and Zoom, from wherever you call home. No finance or insurance background needed. We'll train you and get you licensed.

Why recent grads skip the "traditional job" path

  • Running phone and Zoom consultations to understand each client's needs and budget
  • Presenting coverage options from a network of 60+ carriers
  • Following up consistently and managing your own daily activity
  • Attending weekly virtual training with a dedicated mentor

  • Full-time: typically $80,000–$120,000 once established; top performers earn well beyond that
  • Paid weekly
  • Bonuses and incentives available
  • Long-term passive income through team building and overrides

Your path forward

  • Year 2: Build pipeline consistency, grow activity, reach $80,000–$100,000
  • Year 3: Start building your own team, earn override income on their production
  • Year 5+: Lead a team, generate passive income, work your own schedule

Most of our managers and team leaders started in this exact seat with zero prior experience.

What we provide

  • Full licensing support — we walk you through getting your Life and Health Insurance License (most pass in 2–4 weeks)
  • A dedicated mentor for your first 90 days with weekly one-on-ones
  • Warm inbound leads plus outbound follow-up opportunities (lead structure covered in the interview)
  • Access to 60+ insurance carriers — independent model, never tied to one company
  • A step-by-step training system built specifically for new agents
  • Weekly pay on every closed sale

  • Able to pass a background check
  • Life and Health Insurance License required before start date (or real willingness to get one — full support provided)
