A bit more about this role:
As a key member of the finance team, you will own core parts of Devoted's payroll function, from bi-weekly processing in Workday to multi-jurisdiction tax compliance in ADP SmartCompliance. This role suits someone with excellent attention to detail and accuracy who wants to roll up their sleeves and take on more responsibility as they grow with Devoted. You will work directly with our finance leaders and with employees across the company, so strong communication and great customer service matter as much as technical payroll skill.
Your Responsibilities and Impact will include:
  • Process bi-weekly payroll end-to-end: analyze and compare data betweenWorkday and the HR submission file, enter it into the payroll and processing within determined deadlines.
  • Serve as our point person for all employee payroll questions. You are the face of the payroll department, so strong customer service and a willingness to help are a must.
  • Confirm that all weekly timesheets are free of exceptions and approved by a supervisor before processing.
  • Analyze and compare new hire and termination information betweenWorkday and the HR submission file prior to each payroll run.
  • Verify that all changes on the HR submission file are reflected accurately in Workday.
  • Prepare, update and retain payroll reports for the annual financial audit.
  • Run our weekly new hire payroll orientation.
  • Support the reconciliation and recording of salary and benefit expenses.
  • Set up new state and local tax jurisdictions in Workday for all entities and confirm that jurisdictions are accurate and complete for all new hires and employee changes.
  • Maintain the integrity of the data within the payroll system.
  • Administer all garnishments in ADP Smartcompliance and follow up with the issuing authority when necessary.
  • Work closely with our People team on payroll reporting and employee needs.
  • Download, save and analyze payroll invoices and statements.
  • Process and settle all off-cycle and on-demand payments.
  • Train and develop our offshore team members on payroll processing activities so they can provide support and back-up.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as Devoted grows.

Required skills and experience:
  • Multi-jurisdiction bi-weekly payroll processing experience in Workday including multi-state tax compliance.
  • 3+ years of experience covering full-cycle payroll processing, tax filings and adjustments
  • Experience working with ADP SmartCompliance for tax filings, amended filings, and wage garnishments.
  • Working knowledge of US federal, state and local withholding tax requirements.
  • Strong payroll and payroll tax skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • A demonstrated track record of accurate work in a high-volume payroll environment.
  • Experience processing manual payroll adjustments (for both wages and taxes ).
  • You are a team player with great customer service skills.
  • Critical thinking skills along with sound judgment and strong decision-making abilities.

  • A Proactive approach to identifying and correcting problems.
  • Ability to research tax law and apply to payroll and jurisdiction setup.
  • Well versed in spreadsheets and databases, and comfortable working with large data sets.

Salary Range: $64,000-$70,000 / year
The pay range listed for this position is the range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at the time of the posting. Once the interview process begins, your talent partner will provide additional information on the compensation for the role, along with additional information on our total rewards package. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
