The Opportunity
We are seeking skilled Directional Drill Locators who are local to the Sparks/Reno area. This position reports to the Construction Manager and offers an opportunity to join a strong, collaborative team at an early stage of growth, gain valuable experience, and contribute to the continued expansion of GRC.
Responsibilities
  • Operating directional drill locating equipment and product support equipment
  • Safely operates drill equipment on job site which may include but not limited to the following: Directional Drill, Backhoe/Excavator, Skid Steer, Tractor Trailer (Moving Equipment / Haul Water), Vacuum Truck/Trailer
  • Reads utility, locates and coordinating day lighting of these facilities
  • Restores and/or landscapes disturbed areas of the job site
  • Responsible for the site set-up and clean-up
  • Load and unload tools, materials and equipment on truck
  • Will be involved in new site Job Safety Analysis - JSA prior to starting construction
  • Setting up safety perimeter using signage, cones and safety barriers and at times flagging traffic
  • May be required to work overtime; after hours; on weekends, for emergencies or be on-call as work is needed to ensure work is completed
  • Ability to follow instruction

Required Qualifications
  • Directional Drill Locating: 1 year
  • A valid driver's license is required for most positions
  • On-call and weekend availability

Preferred Qualifications
  • Falcon F5 experience preferred
  • CDL A
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Understanding of basic utility construction processes and terminology a plus

Additional Information
Hourly Range: $25 - $33 Hourly, based on experience
Schedule: Day Shift,Monday - Friday & Night Shift, Sunday - Thursday
Travel Requirements: 100%
