Overview/ Job Responsibilities

Position is contingent upon contract award and funding.

Entarian is seeking an experienced Engineering & Implementation Systems Administration Lead to oversee the deployment, administration, integration, and sustainment of enterprise infrastructure supporting engineering, development, testing, and operational environments. The Engineering & Implementation Systems Administration Lead is responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, security, and reliability of systems supporting mission-critical applications throughout the implementation life-cycle. This role provides technical leadership for systems administration activities while coordinating closely with engineering, cloud, cybersecurity, networking, DevSecOps, and program management teams to successfully deploy and sustain complex technical solutions.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience supporting large-scale technical environments involving space systems, ground infrastructure, mission operations, communications networks, cloud platforms, or enterprise information technology capabilities.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Lead systems administration activities supporting engineering, integration, implementation, testing, and production environments.
  • Plan, install, configure, and maintain Windows, Linux, virtual, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure supporting mission-critical systems.
  • Coordinate infrastructure deployment activities with engineering, networking, cybersecurity, cloud, and DevSecOps teams.
  • Manage enterprise server, virtualization, storage, backup, identity management, and supporting infrastructure services.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, capacity, and operational health while resolving complex infrastructure issues.
  • Implement and maintain secure system configurations in accordance with DISA STIGs, RMF requirements, and organizational security policies.
  • Lead patch management, vulnerability remediation, system hardening, and life-cycleย maintenance activities.
  • Support system integration, verification, testing, accreditation, and operational readiness activities.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure documentation, implementation procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and system diagrams.
  • Coordinate infrastructure changes through established configuration management and change control processes.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and task direction to systems administrators and implementation personnel.
  • Support customer meetings, engineering reviews, technical troubleshooting, and deployment activities as required.

Salary Range: $130,000.00 - $152,000.00

Minimum Qualifications
  • Active Secret security clearance (TS/SCI preferred depending on program requirements).
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience administering enterprise Windows, Linux, virtualized, cloud, or hybrid infrastructure supporting complex government or commercial environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading systems administration teams supporting implementation, integration, or enterprise infrastructure deployments.
  • Experience deploying and administering Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), VMware, Hyper-V, or comparable enterprise platforms.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise networking, storage, virtualization, identity management, backup and recovery, and systems monitoring.
  • Experience supporting Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, PKI, certificate management, and enterprise authentication services.
  • Experience implementing secure system configurations using DISA STIGs, Security Technical Implementation Guides, or equivalent security standards.
  • Experience supporting infrastructure implementation projects, technology refresh initiatives, and operational transitions.
  • Familiarity with scripting and automation technologies such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, or Ansible.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills across enterprise infrastructure technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, cybersecurity, operations, and customer organizations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, and Outlook.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10% to support customer locations, implementation activities, engineering reviews, and operational deployments.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense, U.S. Space Force, NASA, Intelligence Community, or other classified government programs.
  • Experience supporting AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, VMware Cloud Foundation, or hybrid cloud architectures.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, or containerized application environments.
  • Experience supporting DevSecOps pipelines, CI/CD infrastructure, GitLab, Azure DevOps, or Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Familiarity with enterprise monitoring platforms such as SolarWinds, Splunk, Elastic, Grafana, Prometheus, or Microsoft System Center.
  • Experience supporting high availability, disaster recovery, backup, replication, and business continuity architectures.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, or comparable infrastructure certifications.
  • Security+, CISSP, or other DoD 8140-compliant cybersecurity certification.
  • Experience supporting space systems, mission operations, communications infrastructure, or enterprise command and control environments.
  • Experience leading infrastructure modernization, cloud migration, or enterprise transformation initiatives.
